there are not many hotels near the Don Mueang airport. I stayed at the Amari which is connected to the airport but that was before the move to the new airport. It was expensive but nice. There is a Miracle Grand hotel which is not too far away but I have never stayed there. Other wise it seems best to go downtown as it is a relatively short trip.

if wanting cheap/inexpensive  digs for the night, fairly close, 15 kms or so, Watana Mansion is in the 500-600 bt range. clean, safe and close to MRT, if wanting to go into town. google and should come up with a couple sites for reservations, one has breakfast inc. and 1/2 free internet. but if you miss the breakfast, you really aren't missing anything. 8)

a mere 15 minutes back to airport in morning, if traffic co-operates. less than 100 baht fare.

Stayed here also and concur with above. Also has swimming pool & small well stocked convenience shop.

I always stay at The Miracle Grand. Nice hotel, not too expensive, free transportation to airport. Even have TV in bathroom.
If you contact them prior to arriving at DM they will pick you up.
