Covid 19 and Blood Groups = Possible some immunity

Post by Khun Paul » December 3, 2020, 6:48 am

I had an email from a friend that stated that certain Blood Types may be less prevalent to becoming SEVERELY infected from Covid 19.
Now while asw a normal person with little Medical Knowledge I initially debunked that idea , however on searhing the Internet I found many references to this train of thought.

These are some of the links :
https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-12- ... roups.html
https://www.news-medical.net/news/20200 ... ilure.aspx
https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavir ... -1.5201743

It should be noted however, that everyone can still catch the Virus through well known methods, so observance of all forms of protection and cleanliness should still be observed. It does also show a light on a simple fact that Blood type could be a factor in a lot of illnesses including Covid 19 .

Please feel free to research yourself and come up with your own conclusions, there are too many sites to even begin to mention to support this claim , none I have read have completely debunked the claim however , just added a cautionary notes.

The U.S. blood supply is so low, blood banks are offering donors VIP Jets (NFL) tickets or Krispy Kreme donuts for a year

^^ When this theory first surfaced way back in lock-down, I recall reading that the common medical opinion was yes, there are discernible differences based on blood type but due to the very sparse data at hand, the differences appeared to be at best negligible and the theory totally speculative.

I will look at those links later to see if a newer, more recent light is being cast here.

I agree I thought as you did, however, even if the results are negligible, it is interesting to read that blood types can and do determine your possible illness. Never be complacent but interesting nevertheless.

What is the most common blood type in Thailand?
group O
For the ABO System, group O is the most common (40.5%) followed by group B (30.5%), group A (20.5%) and group AB (8.5%).

Just to let you know
