After looking at the link, I think he was a loser. Years ago I read his autobiography.

Apparently, he was sentenced to 20 Years imprisonment, later commuted to 8 Years by JC, but then released after serving nearly 52 months behind bars, according to Wikipedia. Turned out to be a good deal from his side.

I also wonder why he didn't run for a Seat in Congress. He certainly appears to have had the credentials \:D/

The Constitution allows a convicted felon to be a member of Congress, even if in prison. Eugene Debs ran for President four times, including once while in federal prison for sedition during World War I.
