where to buy a bike in udon thani, for a road trip?

hi

i'm looking for a good shop to buy a decent bike in udon thani which will carry me through isaan (along the mekong to ubon ratchathani) for three weeks (that is, i need need a rack, lights, decent gears).

ideas anyone?

This is a wonderful opportunity to start with something on your own - what you will have to do when on tour thru Esan.

Go to the next waitng samlor driver - that are these three-wheelers based on a motorcycle and ask him where you could buy a bicycle (bike).
There is a huge number 0f bike shops in Udon as became clear a couple of month ago at the big joint bicycling thru Udon on Mothers Day (Bike for Mom) and again will be evident when there will be a similar event in December (Bike for Dad).

If the samlor driver does not understand your English talk to him in Thai: I want to buy a bike - where?
Ditchan/Phom yak sue bike - thiennai?
He will bring you to the next shop and any other you want to try out for less than 100 baht.

LA bikes and 888 bike, 888 is up the street from landmark towards phonpisai or talaat ban houy
