Former Udon Resident "Lucky" Deceased

Post by bumper » October 21, 2008, 10:14 am

An American who was medically retired Marine died yesterday in Arizona at the V.A. hospital

I knew him as Lucky had a Thia wife and children. He had been severly wounded in Bosnia and suffered a great deal of pain for years. His death what the result of the wounds.

I recieved a call from a friend in the states, informing me. I was told that his wife and chidren will be returning to Udon.

I remembered " Lucky " , interesting guy and had a few stories for sure.

The last few years for him in Udon were challenging for him no doubt.

RIP

sad to hear. was a good bloke and a real original. met him at the ban chaing gym when I first lived in udon and he was always up for a friendly chat and a beer or 10. was often heavily medicated because of the gaping hole left in his leg created by a close range shot gun blast suffered in the former yugoslavia.
rest in peace lucky the worlds a poorer place foryour passing

Is this Lucky who rode a big motor cycle and dressed in cams a lot? If so it is a pity, he was one of the first Americans I met in udon, a good bloke.

Does anyone know what happened to Lucky? Big Bob told me recently that he had passed but nobody seems to know anything. I found this thread but its been eating at me to find out what happened. He was a beautiful guy and we had some good times years ago. He seemed to always have a positive attitude and that's a rare thing among expats in Isarn.

He was so young to be gone now, I cannot accept it. I have dealt with death so many times here and it never effected me but he was a very special guy. I will never forget the last time I saw him, he was smiling, and in typical fashion he was down in Bangkok collecting the mail for the VFW guys in Udon. He also offered to do a favor for me, he was so giving like that.

If anyone knows anything please post it or send me a PM,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Rest In Peace Lucky, You Are Missed!

According to Git's post of October 21st last year (2008).

Lucky was a medically retired Marine died who died on the 20th October in Arizona at the V.A. hospital. He had been severly wounded in Bosnia and suffered a great deal of pain for years. His death what the result of the wounds.

Git was told that his wife and chidren will be returning to Udon.

I meet Lucky a few times around town and he was a very pleasant person and it was sad to learn of his passing.

Sorry I haven't heard anything beyond that. I know he was very ill when he left here.

I was talking to a couple of guys yesterday who mentioned this chap's death.

Not to be confused with the 'eccentric' French dude with the same nickname.

I don't know that either.

No It's not Gold Wing Lucky

You guys at the VFW may want to Talk to your member Tung Dee since he is the original source of information and was in Arizona when l Lucky died.

I never new his real name, if somebody can post it or send it to me in a PM I will contact the VA. Was anything posted by the VFW or Retired Division @ JUSMAG? It seems the right thing to do, to at least know what happened, I would hope my friends would go that far if anything were to happen to me.
