I was thinking of doing it here in Udon, using Ryukas.
Starting off with a couple.
I got talked out of the idea, by a old family friend who used to rent bikes and cars in Pattaya.
He told me me your stock will get smashed up or stolen.
Have you tried Big Cycle in Udon?
They might know where you can find a bloke with a big chopper for rent.

Re: Big Motorbike Rental
Big cycle on the ringroad is the best place to rent a shopper, but I must advise you that you should be an experienced driver in order to run one of those monsters but Jiggo is definetely the best place

The Honda Phantom is 200cc, and costs 90,000 baht new.
Zongshen do a bike just like it, at 58,000 baht.
I've got the Zongshen Ryuku 125cc, at 38,000 baht.

Re: Big Motorbike Rental
Hi mrbeerlao
The phantom is 200 cc and cruises at around 100 kmh top speed 140 kmh it has saddlebags and is a comfortable ride. It has just come off rent from a kiwe who had it for 2 weeks then extended for another 4 days. He also has expressed that he will rent again when he comes over next.
There are i think 2 other Phantoms with local small bike rentals in udon but are old and more expencive not a realistic price in my opinion for old bikes.
Re bigbike the have 1 or 2 bikes that they rent, I had a friend rent a Harly softail from them it cost 4,500 for the day with a 20,000 deposit he only took it for the one day.

Re: Big Motorbike Rental
I love my Ryuker whang dong, only 20,000 baht and can haul 4 babes!
Re: Big Motorbike Rental
just to confirm that I was the kiwi who rented the Phatom for two weeks, and did just over 1000km of travel around rural Isaan. I will definately hire it again, and I am a Harley owner of 20yrs, so its not easy for a hog owner to say that about a piddly 200cc japo. However, the Phatom is nearly as big in size as a Hog, is similar in design, big tank, big seat, saddlebags, sissybar, wide handlebars. I was totally surprised that it was only 200cc as the motor looks bigger, and performed better than my TT250cc, or my GN125H
It was an excellant bike to ride for one who is not use to driving in Thailand where there seems to be no road rules, and its each man for himself..it was lightweight, so easy to dodge between the potholes and ruddy dogs, and I was happy cruising at 90km max, as I could keep up with the traffic as well as have a decco at the scenery..actually I am sitting here miffed that some other bugger will hired it before I can get back there to use it again, I loved it that much, and as I say I am a Hog owner, and ridden bikes for 40yrs...
hogs are ok for highway use, and long distance, as even then they can be uncomfortable, but in the rural Thai areas, and narrow city streets you are better off with a lightweight machine..I had the dream of hiring a Harley too, and doing the easyrider thing thru thailand, but I did on the Phatom and came away just as happy with my trip..thanks Rossi and Nam for the bike and hire, and the professional business approach ..hope to be back at xmas for another go, so look after that baby for me......Maaka..

Re: Big Motorbike Rental
Hi maaka thanks for your great feedback,Im glad ive started this thread,as of found a great bike rental now!!! And as for the harley well 3800baht per day thats way too much money... so ill be happy with a phantom.
Re: Big Motorbike Rental
That's interesting I had a Phantom 150 for years, great bike so is the 200 just a bit slower. They are comfortable for long rides.
I have an 800 and it is rare for me to run then 80 on the Country roads to many things going on that you have no control over. Roads like the Khan Kean Highway different story I ride with flow of traffic.
Never rode a Harley maybe I will rent one just to see what that is all about.
Sadly in speaking to PP Motors the Phantoms are no longer being made as of this year. They want all bikes to be fuel injected here now. So that stopped the production.
Well I'm glad you had fun where did you ride.
Let me know when your in town again, be happy to ride along
