Be interesting to compare the Win / Loss run of The Sydney Swans in their first few years

Yes it was also about AFL moving to Sydney , but from memory I suffered for years also.

There might be more pain coming for Sydney wazza. In the next 6 rounds they are playing Freemantle, Melbourne (MCG), Brisbane (Gabba), Hawthorn, Essendon and Geelong. If Buddy isn't going to fire, then they'll be losing more than 1 or 2 of these games. At least the Swans have a got a good coach to help them swing the season around.

Should beat Melbourne and Brisbane, might struggle with the others. But it could be worse! On the radio yesterday the commentators were talking about the fact that Brisbane have not won a quarter this season. Bet Michael Voss is enjoying the easy money in the media.

I read in the Canberra Times because I have used up all my free The Age articles already this month:

"The charismatic John Elliott was president from 1983 until the end of 2002, delivering the 1987 and 1995 premierships, before he was ousted by Ian Collins after the Blues finished bottom and slipped into their darkest era.

It is understood John Elliott has also been sounded out about a return to the board but that will not happen.

Cripes that's a bit like the Labor Party in 2025 sounding out Kevin Rudd for a return. Completely bananas. Big big problems at the Blues.

Richmond take on Brisbane at the Gabba tonight. If Richmond lose, they're unlikely to make the eight. Go the Tigers.

Yes, a good win for the Swans. Some crap from the Bombers.

I see Brisbane won their first quarter of the year against the Tigers. The Tigs are a bit of a worry.

I think the main game today is the Doggies and the Blues. If Carlton don't improve for this game they're totally fooked. Brisbane has to improve if Carlton is going to get the wooden spoon.

The Giants and Suns are no longer easy beats for the bottom half of teams. The AFL will be happy with this although it was inevitable this would happen.

Went to the Eagles/Port game last night.

Take away (short version):

- Eagles were fantasising after winning their first 3 games against weak opposition

- Port are a very good side, with plenty of runners, and pace to burn.

Come September, I will be happy with a top 8 finish for the Eagles. \:D/

At least Port gave one of the very few wins I've had in this round (tipping comps). Bloody St Kilda have cost me a loss in all 5 games they have played in this season. Spare me days, I need a new interest.

How about betting on Pakistani domestic cricket? I think that would be even less predictable. Watching grass grow might be a less expensive interest.

It's now very difficult to pick just how well the Saints will go this season. I think they are going to cause you still more grief with the tipping.

Bloody Footscray. Win when we are sposed to lose and then that rubbish.
Seems we've mixed up ambitions and capabilities again.
And don't start me on the white maggots. Guess they didn't want to see the blues go 5 zip.
Looking forward to Geelong and Hawthorn tomorrow. Can watch without scaring the wife.

We must have seen a different game Lew. the Umpires were bad for both sides, some unbelievable decisions. You could say the game was full of mistakes, Carlton made fewer. You are the same as me as I also get a bit loud while urging Carlton along and sometimes the neighbors wonder what the hell is going on also, the wife is used to it. She likes Hawthorn and Jack Rewailt from Richmond is her favorite player Had many a Beer with E.J, when he ran the Footy Show on Channel Nine. A great mate. RIP

Downunder. After 46 years of following the dogs i've had a lot of practice blaming umpires for our sub standard performances.
Probably shouldn't be making posts within 5 minutes of a loss when one eye is still closed.

I'm scratching my head at the moment. It's going to be a difficult year to pick winners, apart from the Cats & Hawks, which is good for football but bloody frustrating picking my weekly footy tips.
Generally over the last couple of years the Bombers have started at full speed only to die off midway through the year. looks like we are running out of legs a little early this year.
I hope they can muster something for the Anzac day clash I couldn't stand to see the Maggies win.

Todays Cat's v Hawk's is not as easy to pick as the bookies would have us to believe. Then have Hawthorn as good priced favorites but history tells us that they have not beaten Geelong over the past 10 or so home and away games.

Just one of those situations where one team has the wood over another no matter what their current form is like. :-k
