Aussie Rules - 2014 Buddy Aweful Start

Top two and 6 to 12 are really interesting with three games to go. Hawks have Freo (50-50 but Freo at home for me) away, Geelong at the G(50-50) then the wobbles at the G so their finals, possibly excluding the Collingwood game begin this week. Swans have Saints, Dogs and Tiges and even if they drop the Tiges game should still finish 1 or 2 for the home final. Cats have Carlton, Hawthorn and Brisbane and will be hoping for Freo to do the Hawks this week if they can take care of the Blues (Blues have a massive chance). I reckon top three will be Swans, Cats and Hawks which would mean Cats and Hawks at the G week one of the finals and Freo going to Sydney - Homebush - where the Swans don't play as well and Freo don't fear travelling.
North have Dogs, Crows and Dees all at home (Crows in Hobart). Crows have Tiges, Roos and Saints. Dons have Eagles, Suns and Blues (wouldn't the blues love a chance to keep Essendon out of the 8 in round 23). Pies have Lions, Giants and Hawks. Suns are gone. Eagles have Dons, Demons and Suns and Tiges have Crows, Saints and Swannies. West Coast on from will win last three and Crows have to beat Richmond this week. Carlton the beat Essendon round 23 and we just about could have a Western Derby week one of the finals of Freo drop two of the last three.
So may alive games with three weekends to go before the finals will make for a few great weekends on the couch.
1 Hawthorn 60
2 Sydney Swans 60
3 Geelong Cats 60
4 Fremantle 52
5 Port Adelaide 48
6 North Melbourne 44
7 Adelaide Crows 40
8 Essendon 40
9 Collingwood 40
10 Gold Coast Suns 40
11 West Coast Eagles 36
12 Richmond 36
13 Carlton 28
14 Western Bulldogs 28
15 Brisbane Lions 24
16 Melbourne 16
17 GWS Giants 16
18 St Kilda 16

He must have smoked a joint before the report. :D The effects would probably have worn off pretty quickly with Mick. Who the hell gave Mick Malthouse a joint? Wazza was it you? Perhaps Brendan Frevola popped into the coaches box?

Apologies to Brendan for incorrectly spelling his name. You ain't forgotten Fev. You could have taken the Blues to the premiership unless Hormone Hirdy had his guys the size of Arnie with the speed of Usain.

Brilliant game of footy tonight with the Tiges rolling on to September glory  .A real game of momentum swings and Adelaide looked to have it under control after coming from 4 goals down to lead with 5 minutes to go. Two late goals and it's 7 in a row for Richmond. Collingwood smashed by 10 plus goals by Brisbane and Essendon just getting over the line in a thriller against West Coast. Draw with the kiwis in the rugby, the purple haze putting on a show in the league, Buddy kicks 9, the poms scoring runs at the oval and Man U getting done in the soccer at 1/2 time. Cramp in me remote finger......... Happy days

Blues were stiff last night Downunder. Played bloody good football and may have stole it if they were able keep 22 fit players and maintain the rotations. Geelong just keep on winning the close ones.

Well a great round up of Sport from Armchair Marlewjam our 13th Man.

Nails all the highlights. Especially the Wobbles being done.

Readers wont be suprised to read that the 13th man flew to Udon 8 years ago to watch the Football World Cup as the time zones were better and cheaper than spending every might in an Ozzie pub or club.

Geelong winning the tight ones. Elephant in the room.

Wazza, I'm not surprised to read that about marjamlew after his sports summary. Marjamlew would seem to enjoy watching sport more than many Thai women like playing cards or roulette or eating som dtum. Is that possible?

I'm just back home from a beer at the Auckland casino. You can find yourself a good perch there and watch the Thai women playing roulette abut 5 metres away. A good way to spend an hour. Some of the Thai women seem to live at the casino.

I see it's the second quarter and Norths lead the Doggies 38 - 14. We know what Marjamlew is doing. He isn't playing cards. He's on the edge of his seat glued to the TV with a beer nearby. Cripes he might even be at this game on the edge of his seat with a beer in hand.

Ha ha. Not on the edge of the street as North are giving us a flogging, 32 points down 5 minutes to go in the third. Was a good afternoon/evening yesterday with plenty of sport to watch. But the Essendon / Eagles and Richmond and Adelaide games were a lot more entertaining than the rugby. Every time I switched to the rugby they were standing around doing nothing waiting for a line out, scrum or penalty. That's not entertainment - the Tiges are entertainment.

Eddie won't be sharpening the knife to finish off Bucks. He loves Bucks as much as many Isan people love Yingluck. The Wobbles could come 12th and everywhere Eddie would be playing bodyguard for Bucks.

A Thai woman just told me that some of the Thai women at the casino are so keen on gambling that they are available to randy gentlemen with some spare money. She actually used the word prxxxxxxtes.

We would seem to have a Soi Samphan in the Auckland Casino.

Three quarter time. Norths 77 Doggies 7 11 53. Doggies not kicking so straight today?

I see club memberships are at record levels. There are more Collingwood ferals than ever before. Big Eddie and Bucks keep the members rolling in.

The Swans membership numbers seem to have been rising strongly over the last few years as well. So far it's been a good season to be a Swans supporter.

I hope Port beat Carlton tonight and the Doggies beat the Swans on Sunday.

Wazza, Ides back on after tonight's thrashing. I like many others got caught up in the hype that we were improving, but the game showed just how little we have learnt. Maybe we are saving the good stuff for next Friday night

I doubt it very much 103 points is a disgrace, I like many others have been a Blues supporter for many years when a team like this can be beaten by the lowest teams on the ladder the brains trust upstairs should be looking to swing a big axe and MM should be the first to go I believe he has been a good coach in the past but not any more.

GT should be happy he has got the first leg of the double without much problem, maybe a little harder on Sunday though!!

Carlton had nothing to give last night after last weeks close one and finishing with 17 fit players. Port on the other hand were playing for the double chance and that is still alive with them going to Perth next week. Hope that the Hawthorn - Geelong game lives up to the previous 15 or contests. Dogs no hope against the swannies but the axe has been swung and hopefully the team on the park will have a dip and provide a bit of a contest.
20 years next year since the Blues have won a flag. Never thought I would see that in my lifetime given what they achieved in the 30 years to 1995. Malthouse took 10 years to build a premier team at Collingwood and they finished 3, 1 and 2 in his last three seasons. Do the blues have the faith and patience after 20 years? And Collingwood in the three years they since they sacked Malthouse 4, 7 and 10(?) - What a massive mistake going from Malthouse to Buckley. But no one in the Melbourne footy media has the nuts to question anything Eddy does.

Some excellent points there marjamlew. I don't think the Blues will win a flag for another 20 years. They're a very poorly managed club. Nearly as badly run as Essendon. :D

The Pies were always going to go down after 3,1 and 2. It causes me great pain to say they would have been better to stay with Mick. Bucks isn't Mr. Popularity with the players. The fans seem to like him though.
