Well Cactus, I'm not sure about selling, however when I bought my truck, in my name, I had to get the certificate of residence from the Sakon Nakhon Immigration office, hope that helps......cheers harpo

Selling a car you can use either a letter of residency from immigration or a yellow house book, you need one or the other when buying or selling if Farang.

To get a yellow house book you need to first get a letter of residency from immigration. How long is that letter good for? If it doesn't have an expiration no need for a yellow house book, you can already prove residency with the letter.

Not when I got mine.

Of course, when dealing with Thai bureaucracy, YMMV.

I guess you must be applying at the Amphur office in Ban Dung then?

Let me, and MS, know if they have changed - as per my second paragraph. :-k

So why are you extrapolating the requirements of the Amphur where you are applying, with the requirements in Ban Dung?

Seems rather backward to me. ;)
