I know it's early but I don't think my lot can to claw back nine points on Hearts. Especially if we have no team by Christmas with players salaries in doubt. What a forking shambles for a club that only a few years ago was in the final of the sub-standard Thursday evening Europa League final. Too many corrupt fockers past and present trying to get their fingers in the pie.
Quick, send for the "Cockney Mafia"

Mark Yates: Cheltenham Town sack manager
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30191264

I was actually surprised that he started the season. 5 years in charge & the side going nowhere, it is hard to blame anyone but the manager.
The Robins have said they will announce Yates' replacement at 14:00 GMT on Wednesday.
It will be interesting to see who they appoint, although it would appear to be a fairly difficult task to turn them around given the lack of money at the club..

Some big games in the Conference last night.....
Bristol Rovers entertained table topping Barnet in front of a 6,000+ crowd and cut the Londoners lead to 6 points with a 2-1 win with the winner coming in the 5th minute of injury time.
Grimsby v Woking was 2nd against 3rd and it was the Mariners who came out on top with a 3-1 win.
Macclesfield now go 3rd with a 1-0 home win over Torquay. :D
Chester continue to improve and had a good 4-2 win at Dartford which puts them just 6 points off the play offs.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Does not exactly knock my socks off so I will have to wait & see.
I think, whatever happens, it is hard to disagree with the original decision to replace Mark Yates.

Previous one Statto - Whyte - bent as a nine bob note and now extradited to London for transportation to appear in Court in Glasgow after two warrants issued for his arrest. One for Failing to Appear in Court. =D>

Top placed Barnet entertained third placed Macclesfield in the Conference and had to come from behind to secure a flattering 3-1 victory, according to match reports.
Second placed Grimsby were surprisingly held 1-1 at bottom club Telford and Bristol Rovers now go third after beating Welling 2-0.
But still very tight near the top with only 8 points separating Grimsby from 12th placed Wrexham who have a game in hand.

I know you English fella's won't be too interested but there are two potentially good William Hill fourth round Scottish Cup ties today.

Rangers (second in the Championship) v Kilmarnock (7th in the SPL) at 12:45 UK

Hearts (Leaders in the Championship) v Celtic (Top of SPL unsurprisingly) 15:15 UK

I'm hoping for two home wins.

I see there was a surprise in the Scottish Cup when non league Spartans beat Morton 2-1.
But the other non league side,Bo'ness, were hammered at home by Arbroath 5-0.

Will Spartans be hoping for a tie against Celtic in the next round or against a smaller club, where they have a chance of progressing,like......err....Rangers ? :D

Zid - you are a cheeky rogue and vagabond. I'm dissapointed - I was expecting an attached image of a partially clad Spartan.

Rangers 3 Kilmarnock 0
Law 19′, 84′ Boyd 72′

Hearts 0 Celtic 4
van Dijk 29′, 61′ Guidetti 52′ (pen) Stokes 54′

According to reports they were good games with plenty of talking points in the latter one at Tynecastle - sending off very early on and a dubious penalty.

The fans would need to be careful with their cars in that part of Edinburgh if they got Spartans. The wheel might come off.

Having just seen the Spartan's highlights, I wouldn't want to stand there and watch a game. Especially in pissing rain where the majority of the fans would have to stand on sloping grass verges instead of steps/terracing.

Scottish Cup fifth-round draw

Queen of the South v St Johnstone
Rangers v Raith Rovers
Dundee v Celtic
Hibernian v Arbroath
Falkirk v Annan Athletic or Brechin City
Stranraer or Dunfermline Athletic v Dundee United
Partick Thistle v St Mirren or Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Spartans v Berwick Rangers or Albion Rovers

Zid - Rangers avoided Spartans but Spartans have a chance to progress against the 'big' English side Berwick Rangers or Albion Rovers. Could be tricky for Celtic at Dundee and also for Rangers v Raith Rovers.

The finances of Rangers appears to be in as bad a state as ever..
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30284514
The RIFC results revealed that losses of £8.3m were made in the 12 months to the end of June 2014, and that the auditors Deloitte warned of "material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt over the group's ability to continue as a going concern".
The RIFC directors revealed that funding of £8m will be required, through loans or equity, to ensure that the business continues to trade for the next 12 months, on the assumption that season ticket sales will return to around 38,000, despite around 15,000 fans refusing to renew last summer, and an increase in season ticket prices.
As usually seems to be the case with him, Mike Ashley comes out in a very unfavourable light from the fans perspective.
"David Somers [the Rangers chairman] stated recently that Rangers 'make quite a lot of money' from the Sports Direct deal, but that is not how the accounts read in our analysis. In fact, despite the loyalty of the Rangers fans seeing £7.6m spent on retail in the year covered by the accounts, the club's share of that spending is £590,000.
It would seem troubled times will continue off the pitch..
