Car tax rebate..Where is it?

Hi members...I bought my Honda City car on the 10th Oct 2012...

That is now two years old. Is anyone else still waiting for their tax rebate please?

I have a feeling I have been taken for a ride.....Cheers, Mudguard..

from what I know the rebate came in the form of a reduction of payments on your income tax, so if you work and pay tax here then you will get it, also I think you have to wait 3 years, if you sell the car before 3 years you lose the rebate

The car rebate was for first time "THAI" buyers. If the car is in your name no rebate, if the car is in someone elses name maybe they have already collected it without telling you. It can be as much a 100,000 baht.

It was not in my name...I am thinking I have been done in..
Can anyone please tell me, what were the rules for the rebate please..Like, when it would be payed and when it was supposed to be all payed out to everyone etc..I am getting evasive answers where I am... Cheers, Mudguard

I bought mine in Jan 2012 (in family members name) and we got our rebate about 14 months later (cheque i think paid to named person). I got most of the money back ..... some got 'borrowed' ....

i guess you should have been paid back by January 2014 - but by then i guess Yingluck's government was out of cash (rice scheme?) so maybe not paid, but more likely someone else didn't pass it on.

My understanding was you had to buy the car before the end of 2012 and you got the tax rebate in a years time and you had to keep the car for 5 years or repay the tax rebate. It was a rebate on the amont of tax you paid on the car so different amount to different folks. Depending upon whose name the car is in not much you can do if the rebate was sent to them, after all the car is legally theirs as is the rebate.

The garage would provide a form to hand over for the tax rebate, which my gf did, just don't remember the exact location of that office in Udon Thani, around one year later money (75k B) was in her account.

Thus chances are the person owning the car in his/her name will have spent the money some time ago...

So the rebate is deposited directly to the car owner's bank accountant. Good luck getting any of that back.

Well, after buying my Honda on the 10th Oct 2012,
I finally got my tax refunded of Bht 70,000.00 last Friday 20th Feb 2015...
They say, better late then never...Cheers..Mudguard.... =D>
