Where is the best place for me to take my 2002 Toyota Tiger D4D for injector service in Udon Thani?

a Thai language search yields บำรุงดีเซล 042 222392 ( bamroongุ diesel) 1 result
with your second option being the Toyota dealer . my most humble opinion from
years in the industry , sometimes greater competence can be found at a private shop.
and maybe you can get lucky at dealer but often overpriced and unpredictable. as
you know injectors aren't cheap. hopefully more diesel owners will chime in. 8-[

Thank you for the quick reply - I'll check them out. My experience with the Toyota dealership here so far (at least in Nong Khai) has been that they're quick to recommend part replacement rather than repair. I've got a horror story with them about my brakes - but that's another thread.

I don't think Toyota dealers do the service. They send it out to a local service center. I believe there is a place on Tahan road just opposite (vicinty of) the military hospital.

Diesel injector service

Some time ago I met a guy (an American) who told me I should install "racing injectors" and that they would improve the overall performance and fuel economy - but would cost around 10,000 bht. I can't remember the details (damn) but I think it was in the area of the military hospital. I'm planning a road trip really soon and now I have this sputtering engine - I'm thinking its the injectors. Thanks for the tip fdimike.

Correct. You are looking for either an engine recon engineer's shop, or a diesel specialist. Not a main dealer. This place has all the equipment to service and time injectors, nozzles and spray patterns etc.

disclaimer : i am not a former toyota service technician  these denso pumps & injectors
used across some japanese makes are not purely mechanical but employ sensors and
tie-in to the ecu . your truck may even have onboard diagnostics . my 1st instinct would be
to find a diesel specialist shop . barring that you may have to go to the dealer. to get the thing
running right before re-mapping ecu and installing "racing" injectors \:D/ just my best guess [-o<

From a qualified diesel mechanic 35 years of it, can I suggest you change your diesel filter first if you haven't done so already. I am not saying your injectors are not the problem but usually they last for a very long time and if you haven't already changed your filter it may save you a lot of money

Great response from many Udon Mappers .... Many thanks! Here's the results - I found THE shop - Bamroong Diesel on Thanon (thanks call4995). They checked out my truck and in 10 minutes - lovely people there. The digital tester showed "Injectors ok - ECU not ok". They checked and changed a really the dirty fuel filter at my request (thanks jackson). I had changed this a while back when the light on the dash came on but it didn't come on this time - nevertheless - it was filthy dirty. 300 baht. I test drove it back to Phen - seemed to run much better - I was so happy - but then she started to sputter again. Looks like to ECU is the culprit. Roong says I must go to a Toyota dealership for that. Sure won't be the one in Nong Khai .... I have good reason to mistrust them (but that's another post).
