If there weren't so many revelations like this one, and there have been many, the believers might be able to get more people to believe.
A global warming research center at the London School of Economics got millions of dollars from UK taxpayers by taking credit for research it didn’t perform, an investigation by The Daily Mail revealed.

The UK government gave $11 million dollars to the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) in exchange for research that the organization reportedly never actually did.

Thermometers show the US cooling since about 1920, but NOAA massively cools the past to create the appearance of a warming trend.
The MMCC Believers are caught fudging stats again. No wonder the number of Believers aren't growing. :)

Scientists caught lying again. [-X It never ends with these people.

=====

A high-level whistleblower at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has revealed that the organization published manipulated data in a major 2015 report on climate change in order to maximize impact on world leaders at the UN climate conference in Paris in 2015.

According to a report in The Mail on Sunday, NOAA scientist Dr. John Bates has produced “irrefutable evidence” that the NOAA study denying the “pause” in global warming in the period since 1998 was based on false and misleading data.

The NOAA study was published in June 2015 by the journal Science under the title “Possible artifacts of data biases in the recent global surface warming hiatus.”

Dr. Bates accused the lead author of the paper, Thomas Karl, of “insisting on decisions and scientific choices that maximized warming and minimized documentation.” Bates says that Karl did so “in an effort to discredit the notion of a global warming pause, rushed so that he could time publication to influence national and international deliberations on climate policy.”

Bates said that NOAA bypassed its own protocol, never subjecting the report to NOAA’s strict internal evaluation process. Rather, NOAA superiors rushed the study through in a “blatant attempt to intensify the impact” of the paper on the Paris meeting on climate change, he said.

The “Pausebuster” paper produced by NOAA in 2015 was based on two new sets of temperature data—one measuring land temperatures and the other sea temperatures—both of which turned out to be flawed.

According to reports, NOAA has now decided to replace the sea temperature dataset just 18 months after it was issued, because it used “unreliable methods which overstated the speed of warming.”

A reported increase in sea surface temperatures was due to upwards adjustments of readings from fixed and floating buoys to agree with water temperature measured by ships, according to Bates.

Bates said that NOAA had good data from buoys but then “they threw it out and ‘corrected’ it by using the bad data from ships. You never change good data to agree with bad, but that’s what they did – so as to make it look as if the sea was warmer.”

The land temperature dataset, on the other hand, was the victim of software bugs that rendered its conclusions “unstable,” Bates said.

Climate change skeptics have long insisted that scientists are susceptible to political and social pressures to produce the “right kind” of data to back up specific policy decisions.

Dr. Duane Thresher, a climate scientist with a PhD from Columbia University and NASA GISS, has pointed to a “publication and funding bias” as a key to understanding how scientific consensus can be manipulated.

Although scientists are held up as models of independent thinkers and unbiased seekers of truth, the reality is that they depend on funding even more than other professions, and will study what they are paid to study.

“In reality, it’s the government, not the scientists, that asks the questions,” said David Wojick, an expert on climate research spending and a longtime government consultant.

Federal agencies order up studies that focus on their concerns, so politics ends up guiding science according to its particular interests.

“Government actions have corrupted science, which has been flooded by money to produce politically correct results,” said Dr. William Happer, professor emeritus of physics at Princeton University and a member of the National Academy of Sciences.

“It is time for governments to finally admit the truth about global warming. Warming is not the problem. Government action is the problem,” he said.

NOAA, the world’s leading source of climate data, not only produced a severely flawed study for political motives, it also mounted a cover-up when challenged over its data.

Not long after the study’s publication, the US House of Representatives Science Committee initiated an inquiry into its claims that no pause in global warming had existed. NOAA refused to comply with subpoenas demanding internal emails and falsely claimed that no one had raised concerns about the paper internally.

Maybe more people would get on board if so many lies weren't revealed. Makes one wonder just how much the Believers believe.

An interesting study titled "Pathways for balancing CO2 emissions and sinks".

https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14856

This new report warns that fossil fuel consumption will need to be reduced “below a quarter of primary energy supply by 2100” to avoid possibly disastrous effects on global temperatures.

This team of eight (8) scientists warns that “anthropogenic emissions need to peak within the next 10 years, to maintain realistic pathways to meeting the COP21 emissions and warming targets.” The Environmentalist movement has now repackaged the report to mean that we have ten years to save the earth.

Dozens of variables are juggled, and when the report is concluded, none tell us much about the future of the environment. The scientists even admit that “there are significant uncertainties associated with projecting energy consumption several decades into the future,” but they fail to acknowledge a number of even greater uncertainties in their calculations.

Dr. Duane Thresher, a climate scientist with a Ph.D. from Columbia University and NASA GISS, has stated bluntly that it is “mathematically impossible for climate models to predict climate.” Appealing to corollaries of the well-known “Butterfly Effect,” Thresher said that long-term climate forecasting is “a quintessential example of this phenomenon” because of the elevated number of variables playing into climate phenomena. “Climate models are just more complex/chaotic weather models,” Thresher has noted, “which have a theoretical maximum predictive ability of just 10 days into the future. Predicting climate decades or even just years into the future is a lie, albeit a useful one for publication and funding,” he said.

This team of eight scientists has declared that achieving global, net decarbonization of human activities “would halt and even reverse anthropogenic climate change through the net removal of carbon from the atmosphere.” They use many unproven assumptions, and they imply that human-induced climate change (itself a contested concept) is a function solely of carbon emissions, such that “net decarbonization” would halt or reverse it. Here the scientists state as fact what is by all accounts very much an unproven hypothesis.

In recent studies, plants have been found to adapt to a greater carbon concentration in the atmosphere, unexpectedly accelerating their ability to assimilate carbon, something unaccounted for in the new report. Moreover, there is still significant debate within the scientific community regarding the precise relationship between carbon presence in the atmosphere, global temperatures and the health of the planet.

While this study takes for granted that carbon dioxide is an evil that must be severely restricted, other eminent scholars have suggested that the contrary is true.

One such scientist, Dr. William Happer, professor emeritus of physics at Princeton University and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, has insisted that the earth can handle substantially more carbon dioxide than is currently found in the atmosphere and would actually benefit from a higher concentration. “We’ve heard that CO2 is a demon molecule that causes global warming,” Happer has stated, whereas in reality more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere produces increased crop yields and a greener planet. According to Happer, an increase in carbon dioxide would only benefit both plant life and human life.

Similarly, Dr. Indur Goklany, who has previously represented the United States on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has asserted that the rising level of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere “is currently net beneficial for both humanity and the biosphere generally”.

The benefits are real, whereas the costs of warming are uncertain,” he said in a 2015 paper titled “Carbon Dioxide: The Good News.”

Lone Star, I am always impressed by your postings. You got brains"!
Since Climate Change began with the "devil" Al Gore. we have been moving towards a universal "Tax," based on how much carbon emisssions we give off.And that includes "farting". The Scientists who disputed this "theroy" , were either killed or
sent off to places of the world where they could not tell the truth anymore.
The facts are , the world is getting colder, and its "shifting from its axis". This is why our winters have been longer and in
in other parts , its getting hotter.
Thanks to Geo-engerieering, Chemtrails , weather wars, ect., We don't stand a chance, because the powers that be are not working for you.
Enjoy what you have left.

And, as usual, there's more to the story.
It was little more than lingering workplace bad blood, said Dr. Bates’s former co-workers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Dr. Bates had felt he deserved his boss’s job at NOAA, they said, not the demotion he received.
"He’s retaliating. It’s like grade school,” said Glenn Rutledge, a former physical scientist at NOAA who worked with Dr. Bates.
“[Dr. Bates] was often heard saying that he, not Karl, should be running the center,” said Marjorie McGuirk, former chief of staff at the data center.
... Dr. Bates himself later stated in an interview with a business news site that he had not meant to suggest that his former boss had played fast and loose with temperature data. “The issue here is not an issue of tampering with data,” Dr. Bates said.
In his interview with the site E&E News this month, Dr. Bates stated that the issue wasn’t with data tampering. Rather, he said, his issue was that some of the processed data used in the report wasn’t subsequently archived in accordance with strict protocols that Dr. Bates had developed. In other words, it was a filing problem, not a science problem.
Always better to do a little research before calling fraud.

Just the latest in a LONG LINE of data manipulation by the Believers. Every time they do something like this, they lose credibility and give a win to those who seek the truth.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... peratures/

Links to the quoted material from the study and from the original article in The Australian appear in the link.
This is not the first time the BOM has been accused of behaving more like a political activist organization than a scientific one. On every occasion, instead of fessing up to its dodgy antics, it has hidden behind a wall of bluster and pretend-scientific authority.

For example, against the principles of robust science, it refuses to allow its data to be audited independently – or to discuss why or how it makes its temperature adjustments.

As The Australian notes in a paywalled editorial, these unexplained adjustments are no way to inspire confidence among a taxpaying public which has to fund the BOM to the tune of an annual 365.3 million (2015/16 figures).
The official record must be accurate and trusted. Otherwise, claims of historic extremes — the hottest winter day! — only mislead and public policy gets corrupted. Even if the bureau does have all the answers, it needs to do a better job of taking the public — sceptics included — into its confidence.
The same is true, of course, in the US where organizations like NASA and NOAA have also been caught red-handed making adjustments to their own temperature data sets, none of these convincingly explained,
And since the overwhelming liberal media is in the corner of the Believers, these "adjustments" are rarely given the scrutiny that they deserve.

Warming to boost deadly humidity levels across South Asia

http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-40793019
Most of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh will experience temperatures close to the limits of survivability by 2100, without emissions reductions.
The research says the fraction of the population exposed to dangerous, humid heat waves may reach 30%.
South Asia is home to one-fifth of the world's inhabitants.
While a wet bulb 35C is considered the upper limit of human survivability, even a humid temperature of 31C is considered an extremely dangerous level for most people.
Recorded wet bulb temperatures on Earth have rarely exceeded 31C. However, in 2015 in Iran, meteorologists saw wet bulb temperatures very close to 35C. In the same summer, a deadly heat wave killed 3,500 people in India and Pakistan.

Really? You're going with climatedepot.com as your source? In the interests of full disclosure, here's some info on its founder, Marc Morano:
  • Started his career working for Rush Limbaugh.
  • Became Director of Communications for Senator Inhofe (Oklahoma) in 2006.
  • In 2012, named Climate Change Misinformer of the Year.
  • Is known for publishing personal contact information of scientists with whom he disagrees.

And Senator Inhofe?
  • Receives hundreds of thousands of dollars in each election from utility companies.
  • Has said on the Senate floor that global warming is a hoax.
  • Uses Morano's website to disseminate his views.
  • Maintains that we can do nothing about global warming because climate is controlled by God.
  • Said in an interview with Tulsa World newspaper that the environmentalist movement reminded him of the Third Reich.

Much as you ignore scientific facts. That some scientists exaggerated or slanted their data doesn't mean that the underlying science is false. It means that those scientists are intellectually dishonest. What about the rest? Do you believe that God controls our climate?

As a very passive follower of the climate debate I think that the pendulum is swinging back to the opinion of there is no warming.
How many of the scaremonger predictions of 10 or so years ago actually came true.
Australian dams to go dry, build 3 or 4 desalination plants in each city was the cry, they are all standing idle now with a great cost of mothballs.
Just the fact that people are being found out to lie would not help the overall argument or keep doomsday supporters toeing the line, especially when it costs the tax payer billions.
Have any seas rose up substantially to cover the pacific islands?
Just an opinion and I don't follow detailed scientific papers. There seem to be to many in it for their own agenda. Some of these groups financially supported with tax payers money.

But some people believe that god rules their whole lives let alone just climate. :-"

Two things bother me about that article. One: No Sea level rise has been recorded in Papua or Australia or New Zealand over the same period. So maybe erosion is the cause for the Islands disappearing. Two: This has gradually happened over several decades and there was never any mention of climate change in 1947 or indeed 57, 67, 77 etc
