Deposed Puppetmaster Stephen K Bannon

Post by jimjay » December 13, 2017, 5:21 pm

Well it looks like the total collapse of the Roy Moore senate run has old Stevie in a bind, but we need to track on this Stephen K Bannon svengali with his own thread as he's sure to lead a few other charges.

Or is this it, his political demise? You can bet TRUMP IS SEETHING over having bet on Bannon's S-T-R-A-T-E-G-E-R-Y after he already figured Luther Strange was the guy to go with. And how must Trump feel after causing all this after cherry picking Jeff Sessions out of that safe Senate seat only to have the guy "recuse" himself. Maybe that's why he went with Bannon on a hunch.

https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/steve-b ... s-alabama/
In many ways, the Republicans are lucky not to have Moore to deal with in Congress. They can face obvious White House aspirant Kirsten Gillibrand and her merry band of hypocrites with a straight face.

No, the big loser Tuesday is Steve Bannon, the sometime movie producer cum finance expert cum political strategist that some claim put Donald Trump in office and then left the White House to better support the president from without, or so he said. In this instance -- purportedly to do that, I guess -- he went against Trump, who originally backed the more establishment candidate Luther Strange, to back one of Bannon's own, Judge Moore.

Why?

Was it indeed to protect the president's agenda? I would bet my house that Strange and Moore would vote the same way in the Senate ninety-nine times out of a hundred, as would just about any other Alabama Republican candidate you can think of. No, it was about power. For Bannon, Strange bore a Scarlet Letter -- the support of Mitch McConnell.

While the mainstream media suffers from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), Bannon suffers from MDS (McConnell Derangement Syndrome). He stomped around Alabama convincing anyone he could find that Strange was a shill for McConnell, whom Steve wanted out as majority leader at any cost. And any cost it was, because the result has been a hugely embarrassing and pointless defeat -- with a ton of substantive issues left to suffer for it, the Senate teetering in the balance.
Another notable voice in all this from the start to finish, MATT DRUDGE.
The Drudge Report’s Matt Drudge blasted Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore (R) after his loss Tuesday, saying Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.) would have won the race.

“Luther Strange would have won in a landslide... Just too much crazy in nerve racking times,” Drudge said Tuesday night in a rare tweet. “There IS a limit!”
So all that talk about Bannon being some kind of master strategist was for naught. Some kind of champion for the forgotten as one die hard supporter has put it.

Instead he just turned out to be a politico-media terrorist who had more than his share of fame. He was the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi of politics. Still, he registered his mark in a totally corrupt and decayed system, if he wasn't such a pawn of right wing hate he could have whacked a LOT more swamp-dwelling politicians. But USA politics only runs on a small collection of worn out themes. Race, Baby Boomer Interests, Identity, Hollywood, Wall Street.

It'll take another 10+ years of waiting out the deeply politically divided older generation's presidential heroes and monsters before any other themes take precedence, like Education, Infrastructure, Viable Foreign Policy, etc.

Till then expect more Bannons etc.

p.s. does this mean Trump will make a human sacrifice out of someone next week? who will it be LOL?

As a republican, I think Bannon is one big horses butt. There were not enough republicans in Alabama that would close their eyes, hold their nose and push the red button, so they just stayed home.

Yep. The party needs some dignity restored. I'm no fan of either side, but at least let's get back to the more educated dialogue than just letting psychos dance with the media. It's like Bannon watched way too many Batman movies or something.

It was Meghan McCain, the daughter of Senator John McCain, who summed up the feelings of many in a three-word tweet: “Suck it, Bannon.”

This moment had been a long time coming. The hardline nationalist, who helped mastermind Donald Trump’s election victory, brought his blow-everything-up philosophy to the White House then returned to rightwing Breitbart News, had finally got his comeuppance.

The Republicans’ stunning reversal in Alabama on Tuesday was a defeat for the candidate and alleged child molester Roy Moore, a defeat for the president, Donald Trump, but, above all, a defeat for Steve Bannon.

“Bad night for a lot of people, but mostly for Steve Bannon,” the Republican strategist Bruce Haynes tweeted. “He’ll be blamed (rightly so) supporting a terriblehorrible candidate, for poor judgment, awful last minute comments and for dragging the president into a losing race.”
They're of course calling for his head now in earnest.

Oh, and the "Post Alabama Senate Seat Loss Political Human Sacrifice" I predicted would be made after this nonsense show, has taken place:

Still have no idea, nor did anyone else, what her function was except being the token female attack dog of colour from his first season of Apprentice.
Former “Apprentice” star Omarosa Manigault Newman had to be dragged kicking and screaming from the White House Tuesday night after she refused to believe Donald Trump had fired her, according to reports.

The official version from the Trump administration was that the reality TV star turned political aide resigned “to pursue other opportunities.”

But numerous reports from inside the ever-leaky 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. had the now-ex director of communications for the Public Liaison office going out in a hail of profanities as Chief of Staff John Kelly told her to pack her things.

She then tried to storm into the president’s residence to appeal the decision to the commander-in-chief, according to a report.

“Gen Kelly Kicked her out [with] high drama with [Omarosa] offering vulgarities and curse words as she was escorted out of the building and off campus,” April Ryan, White House bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, tweeted Wednesday.
So I guess congressional folk will have to stay focused on the tax deal in Washington for a bit.

Bannon can down a few bottles of whiskey and assemble a more coherent and viable "Hardline Nationalist" schemes, still a week left before The Swamp heads off to the ski resorts and counts their cash.

That's a universal. I guess switching horses to the eminently more palatable Luther Strange late in the game would have been taken as some form of admission of some sort of guilt, despite the allegations against Moore being a bit tainted. I don't see Trump's on-again, off-again, on-again endorsement of either as being significant. What do you think? Anyway, the seat is now for the Republicans to totally lose. In a state that hasn't voted for a Dem POTUS since 1976, I doubt Jones will get the nod again next year. There was a similar reversal in 2010 when Scott Brown beat a Dem in MA, Ted Kennedy's solid, blue state, but crashed and burned a short time later.

Are there any significant GOP Bills being planned in the interim that could be imperiled by this 'razor thin' majority as Trump calls it?

AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA, TRUMP THROWS BANNY BOY UNDER A FLEET OF BUSES:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... hite-house
Statement from the President of the United States:

Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.

Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans.

Steve doesn’t represent my base—he’s only in it for himself.

Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.

We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down.

how much do you want to bet it's because Bannon knows something:

CNN Article: "Steve Bannon may just be right"

http://edition.cnn.com/2018/01/03/opini ... index.html
Much political commentary will now focus on Bannon's scornful words about Paul Manafort, Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kusher, the Trump campaign officials who attended -- and then dissembled about -- a fateful June 2016 meeting with, among others, Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin.

"The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor -- with no lawyers. They didn't have any lawyers," Bannon reportedly said scornfully to Wolff. "Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s---, and I happen to think it's all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately."

"You realize where this is going," Bannon is quoted as saying. "This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose [senior prosecutor Andrew] Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to [President] Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner. ... It's as plain as a hair on your face."

That's hilarious.

So now that Trump rejects Bannon, the EneMedia of Fake News is all of a sudden in love with Bannon the supposed racist, anti-semite xenophobe.

So THE SWAMP gets it's first high profile victim of 2018, that was a right proper feeding frenzy....

Guess the country won't end up like an episode of DUCK DYNASTY after all.

Looks like they might sack him in his "weapons centre": "Breitbart Owners Debate Ousting Bannon Amid Trump Feud"

https://www.wsj.com/articles/breitbart- ... 1515100110
Mr. Bannon’s longtime benefactors, billionaires Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah Mercer, are actively distancing from him even before the expected release of Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” according to two people close to the Mercers.

They and other Breitbart News Network LLC board members on Thursday were debating whether to oust Mr. Bannon as chairman, with many supportive of the move, according to a person familiar with the exchanges. Among the considerations are Breitbart’s contractual relationships with other entities, including Sirius XM radio, that involve Mr. Bannon.

Staffers at Breitbart, which Mr. Bannon has called his “killing machine,” described a “chaotic” day at the company, with writers—many personally recruited by Mr. Bannon—wondering whether he would last the day.

Asked Thursday whether Breitbart should oust Mr. Bannon, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said: “I certainly think that it’s something they should look at and consider.”
