Anyone know of a stonemason or similar that can cut & finish granite to size?
Cheers
The shop on the road to Nong Khai on the left side (set back 12 meters from the road) is called Wanghin.

I bought my kitchen bench tops from their, all cut to size and with a front beveled edge. Then paid a nominal amount (about TB 1,000) for her Granite Man to come to my house and cut out the openings for the sink and cook tops, once the benchtop was fitted/cemented in place, so that it didn't crack when being transported. \:D/

The girl speaks excellent English and can understand what you want. I think their number is +66 81 9650556 :-k

Wanghin has a nice broad range of Granite with some unusual colors and patterns. The prices were not too bad, particularly if you selected from the pieces already there and did not ask them to cut to special sizes.

Some indicative prices are,
Tan Brown Counter Top - Picture 1 was TB 4,000 per m2 cut to size, then to polish the front edge and put a 7 mm bevel on it, was another TB 200 per linear meter.

Grey Haze Granite - Picture 4 was TB 5,000 per m2

As mentioned Niggly you may want the back splash. I purchased from this shop on the Nong khai rd and had our backsplash cut at 80mm high and is sufficient. On the 2 windows the bench height was almost the same as the bottom of the window frames. I had them place the backsplash the entire length along the window then cut and place a small 25mm granite strip behind and under the sliding screens to fill the gap and prevent water ingress. This was my mistake with measurement but a good fix result.

Do they do all the measuring up, delivery & fitting? I'm a bit worried of making a calculation error or piecing it out in a not very cost effective way. I've got one length thats 7.5m which will need to be made from a few pieces & an oblong island which I'm thinking could all be cut from one piece

Ended up getting all the counters fitted by a shop on HWY2 nearly opposite VT.
Everything was going smoothly until they used a third party outfit for the install & they cut the sink holes too big. After a big row about paying the balance & it would be sorted later I got the owner of the shop out to see the shambles & she immediately agreed it was unacceptable. There were bigger sinks in the range which would have fitted which I suggested would do but she opted to replace a whole slab of granite. 7 day lead time & her workforce came & refitted it.
Its all good now

Heading towards Nong Khai not all that far past Do Home on the left a big open front place that has many options they will make to order and not to expensive for what you get.
I think from memory there is a U turn at there shop.
i think you're talking about this one:
https://earth.google.com/web/@17.493362 ... MUhEdUEQAg
.
i used that shop 6 years ago.
quality was ok but regarding the price i had to negotiate hard.
they might still be as greedy as they were in the past.
just stand firm for what you are willing to pay.
there are many alternatives around…

On the other side of the road, and out a bit further towards Nong Khai, there is a smaller shop.
We found them to be friendlier and better prices.
Little family job.
From memory next to, or close to a shop that sells blue plastic boats and tanks etc

Worth comparing prices as they are so close to each other.
