Also, as suggested by another member. such thread to be maintained at the top of the latest posts Forum list.
Hi, -- you mean the list on the home page? No way to do that, as it lists the 25 or 30 most recent posts. However, the Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information thread is locked to the top of the COVID-19/Corona Virus forum. I'm also open to other suggestions.

Most of my administrative time in this forum is spent removing miscellaneous discussion posts from the Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information thread and moving them to the discussion thread.
Thank you for your detailed response,Paul.
As regards your second paragraph, based upon my, admittedly, cursory browse through the discussion thread, I am left wondering when you find time to sleep! ;)

And being addicted to some Netflix series isn't helping, either. Last night I went to sleep around 2:45 a.m.

Right now I seem to be partial to British police/crime series.

Two elderly doctors have died in the UK. No mention of pre-existing conditions or if either were immunodeficient which is typically included when reporting regular people dying of Covid-19.Thus the scare tactic is selectively used by the media. "Oh look! Even doctor's are dying!!!"

Meanwhile, the younger doctor in SFG's excellent self-help video personally faces dozens of mostly +ve infections every day at his NYC hospital and apart from understandably looking tired, he's still OK.

Hand washing, gel cleaners, face masks and staying at home as much as possible... that's all we need.

Oh yes, and DISCIPLINE.

Amged El-Hawrani, a 55-year-old ear, nose and throat consultant, died on Saturday at Leicester Royal Infirmary, while Adil El Tayar, 63, an organ transplant specialist, died on Wednesday at West Middlesex University Hospital in London, it emerged. Both had contracted Covid-19.

If 55 and 63 are now considered "elderly", the rest of us don't stand much chance.

The London ExCel centre, the National Exhibition Centre Birmingham and the Manchester Central Convention Centre have been fitted out as ICU units providing 11,000 critical care beds for the treatment of Covid19. Dyson and formula 1 racing teams are developing apparatus to help people breath when they’re very ill, airline staff have offered their services and tens of thousands of ex NHS staff have come out of retirement etc to help out. Britain always comes together in times of need, we have always gone the extra mile to help each other in times of crisis, this rapid response makes me very proud to be British.

One of the most interesting points
Thousands of EasyJet and Virgin airline staff are being offered work at the hospital.

NHS England said many airline staff were first-aid trained and already had security clearance.
The workers would be changing beds, performing other non-clinical tasks and helping doctors and nurses working on the wards, the NHS said.
So while you cannot fly you may be employed in the NHS which desperately needs more staff.

It looks like a win win to me.

The interesting thing for me in this article is that it states that the virus is spreading faster in the warmer Southern regions, is this because of the deprivation or is the purported fact that the virus doesn’t do well in warmer climates a myth?

Not 100% sure but i read other available info that suggested the heat doesnt stop the virus totally only slows it .. the heat in Southern Italy isnt the same kind we experience in Asia / Thailand

AS I understand it the Transmission distance is significantly lower in hot COUNTRIES ,but that is just scientific speak, there is a bit of Fake News running around that temperature over 26/27 degrees kills it, but do not hold your breath .
I do know from the Chinese doctors, that if you put out your un-washable clothes outside in the sun, any VIRUIS which has attached itself to those clothes will be killed by sun-light they say.
So just maybe, exposure to the SDUN can help but not really scientific, just hope I expect .

DM
How does a disease become slower due to heat?
Doesnt matter in the end either you have it or you dont. I am not going to change my daily habits nor should others (washing, touching people, being aware of certain surfaces touched by others) just because of the ambient temperatures

Slows or makes the transition more difficult as in a longer period of exposure time to get infected ..WAS WHAT THE INFO POINTED TO

i never suggested that anyone should change any daily habits due to the temperature .. did i ?? THAT WOULD BE REALLY SILLY.

Some good news for a change, let's hope other countries take note.

Yes, 55 and 63 is definitely in the "not a spring chicken any more" age category. Reality sucks sometimes.
