Car detailers

Post by vincemunday » September 26, 2020, 4:00 pm

Does anyone know a good car detailer in Udon? I just spent 3500 baht in the one near Tesco Nadee and they have done a terrible job, the interior is awful and they've missed patches when they machine polished the outside.

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Did you ever check out this place in Ban Jan? I’ve passed it a few times but seeing as the car is a rental I’ve no inclination to go inside

The Hyundai dealer does a nice job. I used to buy a package 3x in a 12 month period.

Also Beyond Cafe car detail...near Nongprajak Park.

We looked for it and couldn't find it, I'll take another peek.

that's an obscene amount of money for a car
detail in thailand . and you weren't pleased with
job either. i guess ฿฿฿ spent really is meaningless

I gotta agree there mech. After the Bangkok floods, car detailing that included removing all the seats, carpet and opening door panels to remove and dry sound deadening padding was a 3-4 day job and only cost around 5000 baht.

So is Car Detailing a posh word for Car Valeting, Car Cleaning or is it more Detailed? Maybe a drop of Polish? Oil Change, Brake Overhaul.
What should I expect from a Car Detailer?

Thanks Joe, I can sleep easy now.
Sounds like a UK equivalent of Car Valeting.

Detailing is a little bit more than a valet, they'll take out swirl, remove old polish, fix minor blemishes etc, use a coating to protect the paint that lasts as long as 5 years etc, it's usually what high end car sales use, here it seems to mean "useless, expensive car wash"

That would explain my ignorance when it comes to cleaning motors, I'm definitely "Low End", bucket of washing up liquid suds and vacumm cleaner for the dog hair. However I do have Dragon Power in my 18 year old pickup.

That’s quite funny, my 26 year old Nissan NV has a Dragon power sticker on the windows.

Surprised with the negative report on the Tesco detailing/car cleaning place. Remember seeing a couple of positive posts about, but guess that was over a year ago.

100.00 USD for a proper car detailing (if it's even available in Udon) would be reasonable.
- Wash / Bluff Wax
- Steam Clean Engine
- Steam Vacuum Interior (stain removal, if possible)
- Polish/Treat Leather Seats (stain removal, if possible)

- Basic Fluid Level Checks (refill/top-up for an additional charge, if required)
- Battery Check / Charge (if required, included in detailing service)
- Basic Automotive Checks (break pads / lights / wiring)

Bold items would be key in the 100.00 price tag!!!

Added bonus would be a green chrismas tree scent tag place on the mirror (would remind me of the good old days).

As recommended to me here, I have been impressed with Beyond Car Care. The Porches, BMWs and Benzs present tell me that quite a few people who lve their vehicles trust them.

As a special case, my white truck had something like light overspray that made the paint feel rough to the touch. The dealer said 4000 to clean it off. Beyond did a ‘cut’ and wax with Meguiars that took care of it cmpletely. 1200 Bt and a nice AC cafe to sit and eat fancy cake in while waiting.

Like any Thai business, it doesn’t hurt to check in on them a few times to confirm there was no miscommunication on what we want done. They have a laminated pricing menu and are a bit flexible on the printed prices.

Location as mentioned above behind Nong Prajak on the boulevard.

Althought detailing appears to be a posh version ov a decent wash n valet i believe the detailing includes removal.of body blemishes , swirls and chips as well.as a steam clean.engine and interior upholstrery...also.a recoatng of the body with wax and ir some thing else to.protecrt it .. a good detailing job in uk costa about 200 to 300 quid im.told

Im.a 250 bt customer of tesco.Nadee car wash ...picks truck.up.from.office n brings it back ..aleays a goid job ..but just means its gonna rain shortly after its finished
