My 2 course dinner last nite:
1) large baked potato 1/2 with Dijon mustard 1/2 with horseradish.
2) lettuce salad with carrots, celery, leeks, green olives, Kraft balsamic. Sometimes add rinsed chick peas for protein but not mandatory. Tops tomatos didn't look appetizing yesterday.

All fiber, all flavor, full tummy, crunchy goodness, low calories.

Nowt wrong with Heinz Salad Cream.

Rabbits hate it.

Humans ain't rabbits (but end up pooping like one if they go all veggie).

Kopkei no idea if your comments meant my way but was taken as food for thought. So I checked my toppings:

Balsamic dressing 60 calories
(Olive oil would be double that)
Dijon mustard 10 calories
Horseradish under 10 calories

I'll live with those indulgences.... vs what I might prefer which is a Brickhouse bacon cheeseburger with mayo and side of fries, or their 170 baht spinach cheese omelette big breakfast.

Whole Foods Plant Based 80% of the time. That roughly means animal proteins 5x per week.

As many have said and will continue to say, everything in MODERATION , my father ( doctor ) used to say that, you can occasionally excess with a particular food or drink is understandable and in some cases acceptable be that Cream, Chocolate, Alcohol, in fact anything but generally eat and drink in Moderation , the body can normally cope with that , however our formative youth ( where your parents supplied the food you ate most of the time ) were the building blocks of your current situation , if they were reasonably healthy and the food given to was also reasonably healthy and you played oputside not sitting around ( like today ) then your chances of becoming fat were a lot less, nowadays children are FAT not just because OF DIET ( ALTHOUGH THAT IS PART OF THE REASON ) but also the sedentary life they lead, sat looking at phones/TV, anything other than actually moving their limbs, I know children that have the best exercised thumbs, but WALK .....no no they waddle .
Once you go fat unless it is corrected in the growing up process it is extremely hard to get rid of it , once you get to mid 20's it is a lost cause often made worse by lifestyle and ease of obtaining quick food .
Often as you age and realise that half your health problems are due to diet and being overweight it is an uphill struggle to change the physical situation, while often dealing with the medical problems associated with your previous lifestyle.
People give up smoking to change their lifestyle but even that has drawbacks, after stopping smoking I put on Two stone ( 28 lbs, or 11.2 kilos) never been able to shake that off .
So eating healthy is a goal for us all but it is very problematic , often not helped by your body requiring a certain amount of the bad food to enable you to continue to function and stay mentally happy .

Makes total sense to me KP. I was blessed with a physiology and metabolism that pretty much allowed me to eat and drink what and when I wanted well past my mid-fifties without getting even remotely chubby. Then the middle-aged spread speed bump cropped up one morning in late August and I needed to be a bit more mindful. Much more fruit, nuts and rabbit food in my diet these days and Mrs tam is in-tune and on-board with my "more pahk" requirements in her excellent kitchen work.

And thanks for the timely reassurance on moderation. I feel a whole lot better about last night's solo demolition of a large bar of genuine, imported Cadbury's Dairy Milk that had been languishing in my fridge since I bought it in Accrington last February. It took about an hour but my goodness, what a wonderful hour that was.

Now, off to pump up the tires on my bike... I may take it for a spin next week.

Replye to KP:s post..

I've been on both sides of the food fence or maybe i would prefer to use unhealthy fence..Luckly i've always like sport/excercise..When i was around 10 and in fostercare..me and 3 other kids were bullied alot because our familys were farmers..we smelled cowshit the bullies told us.So my outlet from that was cross country skiing in the winter and running in the summer..+ all the other choures i had to do in a farmers dayli life.Looking back i'm proud of that "hard"work..looking at the generation growing up now..not god at all and the parent to darm lazy themself too,so no or very little support there.

Parents stress to much,i have no time for myself,i have no time for proper healthy cooking, and the list goes on and on...well we all know their is a price to pay somewere along the road of life..but heck..we don't have time to bother..

And 26% of all English ladys are today suffering from OBESETY   Men i do't know..young people i don't know..but i can tell you this for sure..none is taking trying to eat and cook properfood anymore, frozen and heavly processed is simingly the todays right way to eat...have no time again...sad sad sad.

Ahh today i'm eating healty..I had i BIG sallad..dreched in dressing,if it's Light dressing, well then i add dubbel trippel the amount compared if i would use the "full fat"..we are so darn stupid and lazy..and our kids learn from us right..Food in schools, not to mention food in Thaischools..holy moly..20-30 bath meals..no wonder kids fall asleep..only to wake up if they have one of those sugarwather drinks sold just outside the swchooljard..sad and more sad.

Just have a look at many/most of the Farangs living here, those i know..OVERWEIGHT..drink their bordome away or atleast dull it..everyday,everytwo day..bad fat food to follow..stroke heartattack, pills to follow INSTEAD of making a change,or maybe both is needed cause it's gone to far...sad.We Farangs here, the only thing we have alot of is TIME,TIME trying to change whatever bad habits we HONESTLY are aware of we have ..but rader try that..please another Chang please...sad again.

But i know bad habits are a hard nut to crack for sure..Like y 30+ year of Swdedish Wet Tobaco use, well i needed a plan..with that plan and i guess the-time-was-right..it took me 1 month to quit...But you have to want it,timing, plan, stick whith it..done and dusted.Same goes whith food..or any other habit you want to quit for whatever reason..but the reason should NOT be saif to you by a Doctor..BY YOURSELF.

Tajm for doggie walk...//Alfies rant over..for now ;)

I have found the ready-made box salads in Tops to be quite good value and quality. For about 70 baht, I get 2 man-sized salads out of one box. I avoid the ones with meat in them unless they are out of the ones with a sliced boiled egg. Otherwise the dogs get the cold cuts.

I augment the salad with some sliced beetroot, crumbled sharp cheddar and some croutons. I then drizzle the ensemble with some Heinz Salad Cream.

Keep in mind I am Scottish and your understanding of "drizzle" may be quite different.

Oh no not more sad attempts at TeX mex. You need someone Mexican or at least worked in a TeX mex restaurant in Texas . every time I've tried it I can't tell if I'm eating Italian or Turkish food. But anyway served by Manuel with his porn star 70s facial hair would be funny
nothing wrong with a little variety. not everyone
wants to eat greasy english meat pies every day.
i find the mexican cuisine to be generally healthy
