Well said. IMO that's the biggest problem facing the U.S., far more so than anything that Trump or Biden can do.

Do you think Nigel Farage shows much respect for people whose views he disagrees with? Here are some examples of his respectful behaviour.
Members of Britain’s Brexit Party turned their backs on the EU anthem on Tuesday as it was played live at the opening of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in a move that other lawmakers branded disgraceful and pathetic.

The illegal postal infection rate is climbing, and unless the lame duck does something it’s going to go over 200,000 per day by next month if not sooner, so regrettably that is virtually certain now.stattointhailand wrote: ↑November 6, 2020, 8:00 pmProbably regards them as "illegal" postal infectionssometimewoodworker wrote: ↑November 6, 2020, 7:48 pmtRumps claim that after Election Day there will be no more COVID-19.

Well there’s another record yesterday this time a 14,000 jump and the 7 day average mortality is almost certainly going to go to over 1,000 sometime next week.

Far from disappearing after the election (as claimed by the liar-in chief) there has been a dramatic increase.
This should come as no surprise to anybody (unless they have been swallowing the Trump BS on an industrial scale):

The usual USA reporting delay, no reason for a first world country to virtually shutdown reporting over the weekend.
Anyway the daily infection rate is over 100,000 the 7 day average is also now running at over 100,000 and unlikely to drop much under that for a long time, as showing in the chart above.

The 7 day average is up to 115,000 so maybe even the average may get close to 170,000 while the one day number (125,000 now) could still get up to 200,000 this week

To nobodies surprise but everybody’s regret the USA has hit another record of over 142,000 cases and the 7 day average deaths is running at over 1,000

Re: U.K. going on lockdown, USA stopping restricting movement. WTF
There is no day that I can see where a U.K. number of infections has come remotely close to a USA one.pepesgrill wrote: ↑November 14, 2020, 5:53 amfor the last couple of months , the u.k. infection

Grammar please, it is a spreadsheet not spreadsheets.not seeing that on your homemade spreadsheets?
You are correct that there is no U.K. data on it as the U.K. until recently had actually reduced infections to very few unlike the states that never have controlled it. There was a suggestion in early September that India was going to be as bad as the USA which is why I added it, India is controlling its infections.
My spreadsheet currently has 8,000 cells and is running on an 8 year old iPad
I have been updating the data daily or at least every 2 days. The reason is that the granular data is available for a short time only.
If you have daily numbers of deaths and infections for the U.K. for the last 6 months in a csv format I can add that in for you.
I don’t mind adding it in but I don’t have access to that level of detail and you need that for any meaningful results.
If you mean a second lockdown to actually try to control it then yes.looks like english are just getting on with life also
If you mean ignoring it in the vain hope it will go away like the USA that has managed to increase daily numbers just this week from 117,000 cases per day to over 180,000 cases per day then no.

Re: U.K. going on lockdown, USA stopping restricting movement. WTF
I was and am still convinced that this highly contagious disease is going to infect a majority of all people. Until we have herd immunity, it is not controllable. An effective vaccine or vaccines will widen the herd immunity rapidly. As it is, all the controls now used only prolong the spread of the virus. There is still a worry that for a few, the cure may be worse than the disease.
Re: U.K. going on lockdown, USA stopping restricting movement. WTF
It looks like Sweden's first-wave low-profile approach that so enamored the "it's just another flu" conspiracy theorists and herd immunity campers is no longer an option. Faced with their own, more severe second wave, restrictions on social gathering and pubs have been introduced although no mention of any lockdown (yet).
Bizarrely enough, they are still holding out on a public facemask mandate because, "Swedish health officials believe making masks mandatory will give people a "false sense of security" and could make matters worse."
We've all heard about the scientific nose being rubbed in that pseudo-psychological nonsense before haven't we?
