Given that it "will be a large 75 room luxury boutique style hotel with Spa, massage, Restaurant, coffee shop, swimming pool, gym, wireless internet etc." - I suspect very expensive. 4,000 a night?

It's been open for a while now arjay. I believe they no longer have promotion prices and standard room rates apply http://www.presidenthotelthailand.com/e_room.html

Hey guys,

Along these same lines, I am going to be in Udon Thani in the first week of April for about 1 Month. Does anyone know a decent hotel with a good monthly rate? I am a big guy and need a double or bigger bed or i would definately stay at the same place as last time, Only 3,500.00 for the month i think or damned close.
But i would really like to get some idea as soon as possible, so that i can plan my trip.
Thanks for any help you can give

I don't believe the President offers a monthly rate. If you're looking for something close to the price above try the area around Radjaphat University, there's plenty of budget student accommodation around there.

Or have a look at the accommodation list here: http://www.udonmap.com/udonthani_accommodation.html

Thank You Lee, Those are definately what i needed to see, I don't need to much, and since i am coming to get formally engaged then i need to save a few Baht.
...
Also doeas anyone know the name of that Big park, there is a main road that goes around most of it, and it has a lake/ fish pond with a stone bridge over it.
I am wondering the name of the park, and the main road that goes around it to help me find the best location to stay.

Thanks again

After 2 weeks at The Irish Clock, I swapped hotels for the last 10 nights to The President Hotel. (mainly due to it having a swimming pool)

The room cost me 850 baht per night and came with free breakfast though I never got up in time for that.

The rooms are clean and the hotel quiet, staff friendly and room service and cleaning very good. The swimming pool very clean and me and the TG had the pool to ourselves often enough.

The food at the hotel is mainly Thai with only a limited amount of farang steaks. They had cheeseburger on the menu but after 3 days of asking for one and them not having any I gave up though did finally get one on the last day and it was the best cheeseburger I'd tasted in Udon Thani.:D

There are 2 Samelaws outside the hotel and they are needed as it is a fair old drive into the centre. The hotel is also near the airport so was handy on my last day.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
