Once you're in Udon, drive around a few Moobaans to get a feel of the place.
Is the estate well managed?
Are there unfinished houses, where the developer ran out of money?
Are there packs of scabby dogs running around that have not been rounded up and taken to dog meat markets?
Has that house you like the look of, got a neighbour with a yapping dog, that will keep you awake all night?
Look at the neighbours, see how well the gardens are being kept, do the residents keep pride in the place?
Is the Moobaan on the flight path to Udon's fine "International" Airport?
Some estates have a swimming pool and club house. Have a look around, is it well cared for?
Looking at pictures on a website won't tell you nothing.

Yes, a Thai citizen you can buy the house in your name, your foriegn spouse cannot.
