Watch and glasses shop Phrosi Road, the one with the big Seiko sign outside, run by a friend of mine, good value, can speak some English, will do anything to assist, got my citizen watch strap from bangkok for me, no problem.

Sorry about resurrecting a 3 year old thread.

Does anyone know if the Seiko shop Guns refers to is still open?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend another good watch repairer. I have an old automatic Seiko which cannot get through the night without being "wound" ie I must restart it every morning, and if I don't shake my (watch wearing) wrist several times during the day, it will stop. From some research, it seems the automatic spring mechanism requires cleaning/adjusting.

Otherwise it works perfectly, and is a good every-day watch here because it is as tough as nails, and the stainless steel case doesn't tarnish.

I've had my wife's Gucci watch battery replaced every year at a small repair shop just before you reach Ngeesoon Supermarket. It's just past the gold store on the corner of Makkaeng and Phosri. About 2 years ago, my wife's watch crapped out (it's 15 years old)....the guy replaced the guts, the crystal, and battery for about 1200 baht. It came out looking like new.
I've had her strap replaced at Udon Optical. Inside the store is a very capable watch repair man with high quality leather bands. I've never had occasion to bring a watch in for repair, but it might be an option. He's been there for many years.

Never thought you would come out with that jack. Sling the phone, sorry, watch and buy a new one. OT has the latest on his wrist. Not that it means much. I'll tell you the time without it.

I have a "new one". I also have the Seiko, the merits of which I expounded earlier.

OT will always offer useful advice. Here's another thing, get yourself a watch with diamond numerics. The WFB's like that. OT, helpful as ever.
