Waterfall, where is it?

Postby Chriss » September 17, 2010, 11:52 am

My wife tells me there is a nice waterfall and grounds somewhere near Nong Bua Lumphu, does anyone know if this is correct and if so can you give me directions, would like to take our soon arriving visitor there.

Funny you should mention that, my wife mentioned to me about a waterfall when driving to Sukhothai the other day.Apparently she had been told by a friend who lives in Nong Bua, who said it was just past the Big Buddah on the right hand side of the road. I've never heard or seen anything there, but if you don't get any helpful advice, it may be worth you starting your search in that area. There's always the dino park to visit if you can't find it :-k .

There’s is one around there somewhere, which I visited years back, but blowed if I can find my Nongbua map now.
I hope you enjoy your visit if you do go. I know the Thai seem to have a thing about waterfalls, like to eat, drink, sing and play there. Fair enough. I have to say some I’ve visited lacking in any ‘wow’ factor, but perhaps more exciting after good rains. Sad to see the lack of concern about littering extends to these beauty spots too. [-X Discarded food, plastic, broken beer/whiskey bottles, a real danger for those playing in the water. It was a joy to visit one park in Phang Nga which was immaculate, with staff active in cleaning up the mess left by others. =D>

Hi,
Phu Foi Lom Park. On entering park from East via Nong Saeng it is on the left hand side afer you enter park. Than Ngam Waterfalls. Before you start the steep climb. A bit of a walk from the car park, wear good shoes, but worth it this time of year. Roads are a bit bad, full of potholes.
The park is also worth a visit. Cafe and shop at top. Plenty of sign boards with all walks and places of interest displayed.
A very good day out. Plus they have accommodation if you want to stay overnight.

Just FYI, we went there this weekend and it was quite slippery and muddy. If you have kids, maybe not a good idea since the water was very very rough and wild.

Thanks Douglas, is this before Nong Bua or after it? Can't find it on my map, is it in the Udonmap magazine, guess I should drop into town and get a copy

Get onto the Ring Road and head to Nongbua Lamphu. Go past the Airport and keep going through the Turn off for Khonkean. A couple of kls further on there is a T intersection where the signs clearly tell Phu Foilom Waterfall turn left. Just keep driving and following the signs. Should take 30-40 mins to get there. Some nice scenery along the way. Apparently today they have a Concert on up there :D

Thanks Aardvark, I've also found it in an old issue of the Udonmap magazine.
