Western pub

Postby mortiboy » August 8, 2010, 9:02 pm

Dont know if any of you guys into 70's 80's music,(thats when we had proper music).
The band at the Western pub is just awesome! lead guitarist just so good!.
Everything from Clapton. Dire straits, Santana even the Beatles!
You name it .Sound system really professional......not loud either.
Seems the only pub in Udon has farang live music.
The bar tarts dont bother you at all (disappointed about that really)
But never many people in there mostly Thais!
So there are some Thai's appreciate real music!
Real good entertainment! Love it!

Proper music was the mid-50s to the late '60s. Disco ruled supreme in the '80s.

Ah the Western Pub, great night out, great music and no loud Farangs, just a few Thai guys drinking. The girls dont give you any grief, and the time I was in there, when the band finished and about to close down the girls give me an ash tray to save me running in and out and we just sat and shot the breeze until the small hours then they sent me to my hotel across the road (Napolia). I cant recommend this place enough.

yep

I started going to the Western Pub when I was dating my wife in 2002 and have enjoyed it off and on since then. Good American Country Western and Rock music, done well, and the volume is tolerable. It was usually busy 6-8 years ago.

I haven't eaten there in awhile, but the food used to be good.

It's always been a nice place for a couple hours of relaxed kick back foot tapping music and between sets conversation.

Nice place, good music, friendly girls and good food, I agree.
The only minus is the never ending clapping of the owner and the girls. That starts to irrirate and disturbs the music. I don't understand why they think the customers like it. But... that's my personal opinion.

Yes the girls do clap to the music on occasions.....about 3 or 4 country songs thats all.(John Denver ect)
they could hardly clap alone with
"Stairway to heaven"
Black magic woman",
I cant get no satisfaction',
Dire straits,
Scorpion,
Clapton.
Hotel California
Ect ........... :-"
Any way W/E are busy after 10pm they serving customers.
If you have any 'GO' in your life and stay there late, music gets better and better.
But I guess some of us old buggers need our sleep.
BTW, I look 68 but really I'm 48! Thats because had a lot of grief from Thai ladies!
Rock on you old rockers! \:D/

I played my guitar with the band last night. They didn't half find it difficult to clap to Apache but they managed some how  probably going again Sunday, best venue in Udon as far as I'm concerned.
They like people to jam with the band. They even clap when I sing Runaway can't understand why I'm tone deaf which reflects when I try to sing =D>
