Whatever happened to Jingjoes

Postby hikagemono » November 21, 2009, 6:57 am

I can't find Jingjoes anywhere on the web. I hope they haven't gone out of business. Does anybody have any
information as to whether they still offer accommodation or how I could get in touch with either Don or Tik? I can't imagine an UdonThani without a Jingjoes! :(

there is also a 'kangeroo bar' in nutty park with their trademark jumping friend, assuming # 2 to jingjoes. though may be wrong. 8-[

Wow. That's shocking news. I'm so sorry to hear that. She was such a wonderful and carrying person, and did a lot for the community. She's sorely missed.

The story as told to me the other day was that sadly the owner passed away and an un-named man was running it for the new current owner Tiks mother, the attitude this person dispkays is amazing open whenever closes at approx 8pm or thereabouts, the man is under the influence most of the time as well.
Knowledge about rooms --unknown,knowledge about food...unknown, it was also stated to me that Tiks daughter might be an owner in waiting but that is unconfimed.....None of this is first hand info, but I can assue all that the info was told to me by a long time farang resident of Udon. Who lives near to Jingoes.

Hearsay Paul. You admit this is second hand knowledge. Why post negative information about someone when you don't know if it is true. [-X

My question is:Since it has been qualified as 2nd hand,he is posting another persons sayings!! So how is that harmful?Unless you think that an instant judgment ,by everyone reading it,is going to be formed about the business, effecting the business negatively!Which,to me ,is like saying we are to stupid to determine the difference between facts, opinions and hearsay!

Negativity, are you actually on the same planet or is it an illusion, one knows I shold PM you but honestly, the original post was What has happened to Jingoes,? So I replied to the best of my knowledge admitting it was 2nd hand and I did not verify the info, however the prson who infoirmed me, did so in an honest way with no malice aforethought, and was in fact informing me as to why it was not open for breakfast or late evening which had been the norm.
So thankyou BKK for your comments , one dosen't post negative comments only the truith as one knows it with a rider if required. Galee obviously doesn't like the truth or the version so printed.

It was very sad Tik passing away, so young but hopefully the situation will return to normal in a few months.

Thanks for the posts, guys. Would I be correct in assuming that Don is still running the place? And it's open for travelers? My wife and I are planning on visiting late December and would like to stay at jingjoes. Can anybody direct me as to how to get in contact with the manager of Jingjoes? I'd like to make a reservation.

Thanks much.

Don is the owner but if you can get in contact with Rob who runs the bar he will help organize the rooms. My brother and friends stayed there just after Tik passed away and they where still open and running just with Rob taking care of most things. Someone may be able to help with Robs number as I don't have it, I just go in there and talk to him when I want to arrange a room. He doesn't drink, doesn't forget things and they will look after you well there.
