Where to stay

Postby rufus » July 23, 2011, 8:52 am

I know that I could look up information on the accommodation forum, but I really want something current. I have a couple of days off early in August so the wife and i will come to Udon to do some shopping. Is it correct that Central is being renovated? Is it still open? Where do suggest we stay? What is the Paradise hotel like? is the Charoensri still ok? (I stayed there a couple of years ago, name has changed I believe?). Any suggestions for food? The Irish Clock was always good, I remember.
Thanks for any help

The Paradise Hotel has recently been renovated and from what I've seen the rooms look pretty good, the location is good also.

Central is currently closed and being renovated.

There is a current list of accommodation here: http://www.udonmap.com/en/udonthani-bus ... ation.html

It still is rufus... also the spacious rooms there have possibly the most comfortable mattresses I've slept on. Highly recommended.

Thanks both. If Central is closed I guess it will have to be Khon Khaen.

Rufus - I think that Lee was referring to Central Hotel being closed. Central Mall is still open while being renovated.

Just one night with the Mrs and somewhere close to Central. Looks like it will be the I.C.

A celebrity friend is coming for a visit and wants a low-key hotel with no cameras and a side entrance to avoid other guests (which I read as he may have company with him, otherwise I'd think he would stay at my place). New or Old Lotus area outside ring-road. A bungalow sort of place where he could drive up to his room would probably work best. BB Resort came to mind, but I think he would still have to pass by people to get to a room and none of the houses are available (also too many foreigners who might recognize him). Thanks in advance. :)

Yeah, your people forgot to send me the memo. ;)

I found a couple of unlisted homes in great locations which fit the bill quite nicely. Apparently, he is also bringing his own room service. The b*stard. ;)
