What ............. only having to put up with it for a max of 4 months of the year instead of the 11months of cold weather in UK

oh!, and for those thinking of a nice winter holiday in Udon, the bar girls wear a few extra layers under their coats at this time of year as well

I bought a couple of small thermometers at 69 Baht store in UD Town. They are just a graduated glass stem with a suction cup. I bought two that read exactly the same. I positioned one next to the patio door glass on the inside of the house and one facing it on the outside glass. Now I can read the inside temperature and at the same time read the outside temperature.

I also have an outdoor thermometer in the sala, and yes, I bought it at the Indo China market in Nong Khai.

Amorn's electrical shop, downstairs in the old Big C building has digital indoor/outdoor types for a few hundred baht. I believe they hold the high/low temperature for you as well.
Most school supply stores carry the traditional kind of thermometer as well.

I've often wondered why so many (not all) Brit folks in Udon seem to suffer from PMS.......at least now I know it's in part because of the crappy weather! :-k

Anything above 0C has to feel warm to someone from Scunny who's used to a wind chill of -20C off the North Sea

I am presuming as there were no smileys present that was a serious remark . Well I am not sure how many British menstrual ladies we have in Udon but we certainly have a lot of yanks wearing knickers that frequently get them in a knot, regardless of the temperature . .

 Surely Trubrit,,,, you could understand why wearing knotted knickers would leave one completely "on the rip" \:D/ and in a mood most foul,,,,,,,,, :-"

I love this time of the year, the weather is just right at the moment. Actually it's been a fairly mild year so far IMO.

I notice the other day Global house they have a couple of 'real look' fireplaces on show at the front of the store, it's the first time I've seen them for sale in Thailand. They're creating a lot of interest with the Thai customers.

Not had the aircon switched on in the house, or in the cars.
Can get all the jobs done on the house and garden.
Just finished giving the sala two coats of woodstain.

I wonder if those flame effect fires come with a fan heater like the ones in the UK.
Chilly in the mornings, before the sun gets his hat on.

50 degrees F. last night at our home at Kilo 18....the low of the year (thus far). We spent the night in Phurua where it was 46.
It's 69 at 4:30pm, so I suppose there's a good chance we'll break into the 40's tonight.

Up in the mountains at Pheu Failom today and the park warden told me it was down to 5c(40f) at 6am this morning and many campers abandoned their tents and slept in their cars. Apparently some even upped sticks and went home. I wore a sweater all day without feeling hot and the temperature never got over 20c even in the sun. Good for the tulips though .
