Congrats to Federer in an epic match that could have gone either way.....16-14 in the fifth set.
But very bad luck to Andy Roddick who ran him a lot closer than most people thought would happen.
So Federer now has the record of 15 Grand Slam titles along with 6 Wimbledon titles.
A fitting reward for an excellent ambassador of the sport who is a nice decent guy as well. =D>

Agree Zidane. An excellent ambassador to the sport. I think he was a little fortunate this year that Nadal was not fit but glad that he managed to set a new record.
Roddick excelled himself in this tournament. Both Federer and Murray have beaten him fairly easily in the past & I think he adapted his game to try & give himself a better chance against them....

Congrats to Federer in this terrific match. Federer wasn't able to break Roddick's serve all afternoon until the last game. Federer's own serve was not too shabby with 50+ aces. Roddick played his heart out but came up a bit short. Most experts were predicting Federer to take it in three straight sets.

Last year's final was considered a classic when Nadal prevailed in the 5th set at 9-7. The rain delays made it seem like forever. This year, with a 100 million dollar moveable roof in place, it was nothing but sunshine, of course. :D

Cheers to both competitors. =D> =D>

Will be watching it on Iplayer tonight, as I could not get to see the match but heard the cheers and shouts from outside the hospital.
Pleased for Federer and great fight by roddick in that match and with murray.
