Hello bluedoc, welcome to the forum,

If you haven't done so already, just type "wooden house" into the Search this topic... box at the top of this page; then click on Search and quite a few threads will come up about wooden houses.

doc, for your info.

I have bought two wooden houses in the last five years and in both cases they were dismantled, transported to the new location and re-erected for 20,000 baht (the cost of the house was extra!). Hope this helps you budget.

let me try & keep this topic alive what I have heard around Thailand it what tree hugger did
I would assume if you wanted all wood constructed house I think it would be safe to say build it
on columns this way you can treat the columns for termites and stop them from making there
tunnels to the wood

Is this what you had in mind as to the style of house? The photos were taken these past April. It is south of hwy 22 going toward Nong Han just east of Ring Road. The turn off is same for Italian Restaurant (I don't remember the name) but, advertises rooms to rent, also. Drive on past the restaurant and it is farther down on the right.

It is a very beautiful both inside and out. AS we ask the neighbors about the house, the general concensus was it has a Pi inside. Was for sale when we looked 4 years ago.

It's a fantastic place, what's the history behind it, I take it it's still for sale?

Just out of curiosity, (and not having a shot at the OP), is it a "wooden" house, or a "wood" house :-k

Is there a differance, ..? if its made from wood.
A wooden chair or a chair made out of wood makes it a wooden chair or of course some might say a wood chair, whats another term for a brick built house a brick house..?

I would say 'wooden' is the correct term....and certainly is the more popular name.

Wooden being an adjective ....
I believe it is correct to say wooden house, as in "I would like a wooden house".
Wood is a noun, so to use it you would need to say "I would like a house made of wood".
