Xmas 2010 accomodation.

Postby trubrit » December 20, 2010, 6:32 pm

If you haven't already booked for the Xmas period you may be too late. There are an estimated 20,000 teachers descending here on and about the 24/25th for an education fare from all round the Issan area, including as far afield as Sri Sa Skat, Buri Ram and Khon Kaen .Whiich is to be held jointly at Tungsri Muang and Rajaphrasert University .We here in Nong Wau Sor are trying to provide accommodation for at least 500 in local schools . I am accommodating just 20 in my humble abode .(should be fun) Sorry for the late notice but I have been waiting confirmation of the dates .

Sorry Tru, I didn't mean it like that. I thought maybe there was another, maybe private, university type place (like the one near Santapol college), that I hadn't heard of.

Thanks for the info, and Happy Christmas.

Thats where Rajabhat uni is located now TB - but mid next year the whole kit n karboodle will be shipped out of town to the new purpose built campus , based on a massive 2000 rai space approx 15k oustside of town , i went to have a look last Sunday , huge place and well on the way to completion , I have (or should i say my Thai company has ) just bought 4 rai about 3 km from the new uni . I found it a strange location to relocate and it will in time turn the now farmland into a smal town IMO.

Still to find out what will happen to the original uni on KK rd , if it will carry on as a faculty or may be changed to a high school (only rumours).

Ayup Nick .

Going from Nong Sim lake to the ring rd , when you get to the traffic lights near Global House dont turn left or right but go straight over , stay on that rd for approx 13/14 km and its on the right , cant miss it , turn right onto a newly constructed dual carrageway that runs around the new uni construction site, the uni has all the land surrounding the new site its huge , you can drive round the site and some faculty buildings are already in use to the rear of the main building. Like i said Nick IMO this area will become a new town and rather quickly by the look of things.

Ayup

Thanks - I found it on Google map - with photos too. Seems quite far out of town imo.

What about the old uni? - there is a perfectly good campus already. Why move out of town?

Anyway back on topic - anyone else heard about this fair? can't find out anything. Anyone tried to book into hotels and had a problem?

Well, I’m gobsmacked. My application to accommodate just two teachers was rejected. I specified female, young, attractive and, in the spirit of the season, that they should dress as below. Maybe the Authorities didn’t understand?
But yes, if Udon is anything anything like Korat a few years back when teachers again gathered for a party (oopps, sorry, I meant an ‘Educational’), then one may be pushed to find any hotel room. Everywhere seemed full, bar a place well out of town that, at best, might be described as ‘basic’. My TW still wakes up screaming to this day!

As a man of modest taste and limited ability, I would be quite happy if one of the twenty looked like them.

And good luck to you. You can tell I'm not one to be jealous, or hold a grudge.

P.S. I just hope they have their own sausages and talk with rather odd voices. :-"
