I don't think I mentioned in my post why the marriage is ending. Reason being I did not think it was relevant. Now I'm a *astard and a moral coward. The marriage did not end because of me going down memory lane. She and I have been separated for a year and half. Memory lane just came up in the last week.

Unless you know the whys and hows, I don't understand how you can make such a statement. Any sane man would have left her 10 years ago. I was a fool for staying as long as I did.

are you sure you want to get married to a" beautiful thai lady" through the internet,whats wrong with an average one? whom for what ever reason you don't intend to travel to thailand,to meet?? do you really think it will all come to you on your doorstep.and to think it is ok to think that you would pay someone to check her out, if so you must be a fool like you admit.(any sane person would have left 10years ago) You have alot to learn about thai women and women in general (but you will never know it all along with the rest of us)
And to admit you also have no faith and you are doing this because you don't have any thing else to do and think you are not the best looking apple in your barrel, pull yourself together man.
If you are serious about this you must travel to thailand and see things for yourself, keep your options open she ain't the only train on the track. IMO

I am an American. That is why I said I was located in the states. I should have said United States. Apparently you have a problem with Americans or you would not assume that anything you consider offensive has to be coming from an American.

Again, TC, I don't understand your interest in my failed marriage. You don't know the reasons, so I don't understand the conclusion you've reached. There are people who's marriages end every day, but for some reason you have determine I'm a *bastard without knowing anything about the relationship. Your are right in that my wife and I differ on the reasons, but how did you reach the conclusion that I'm the *bastard and she is the saint?

The only thing I can figure out is that my possible plan to pursue a Thai relationship is either so offensive that anyone with such a plan has to be a real *bastard to be married to. Is that it? That has to be it because you have nothing else to go on.

I've stated my position on this best I can. I'm done on the marriage issue, so TC go ahead on.

Even as a reader not much of a contributor... this discussion really compels me to add my 2 cents worth..........

Firstly not being able to speak for TC, but even Stevie Wonder can see that any aspersions about you are not aimed at your failing marriage...but because of your "plan".

Boatman unless you are willing and able to to make a journey to LOS to find and get to know a lady personally I really feel that you and your "plan" will fail miserably.

As you say perhaps it might be easier to find some one closer to home .... ( and less beautiful )

I can see where you are coming from and whilst your idea appears to be a last ditch attempt at finding some happines in your life - Dragging up memories from the past and hoping it will be the same is a little 'hopeful' to say the least, especially as you have no intention of coming here.

If you were to advertise your intentions on the internet site - you would have no end of willing volunteers who were looking for a nice few weeks holiday in USA. Do what most people do. Come here and see people in their natural enviroment and get to know someone personally, face to face.

Do you honestly expect to have a lasting relationship with someone you have never met personally?

You are correct in that many of the pictures placed on the internet dating sites are not the real person. I should know - I used to run an internet shop and
helped people put their adverts on the sites. I sometimes looked at their photos and hardly recognised them. There is a thriving business here where you can have an 'instant makeover' and then get your picture taken - and then if you want it , it can be edited with photoshop to remove all blemishes etc. You can see this every day in the complex at the photo studios.

By all means make a few contacts but you simply have to come here also in my opinion.

BoaTMAN ,your not the first person to come up with the plan ,,I currently have an english friend tryig to do the exact same thing as you have planned. Its been a pointless excercise telling him that it wont work and so far he has spent over 2000 uk pounds trying to get a certain lady I know in Thailand to the uk. The fact is she will never get a visa but try telling either of them that .
I have to agree with Paul in thinking that you have been answered both rudely and badly ,whether paople agree with you or not there is no need to personally attack you in the way they have done.

I for one would not agre with your plan ,however maybe a few questions are not amiss . why wouold you not dream of coming to Thailand ? Is love all about beauty ? I have never been with a thai whore ,but my guess is that thyey are very different to a thai Lady so wh at do you want in your life a whore or a lady?

On a personaal note the ASIAN LADYS HAVE ALWAYS APPEALED TO ME, i WAS DIVORCED FOR THE 3RD TIME some five years ago . I thought of bringing a thai girl to the uk , but decided against it v. I think the change is to great for them .\and that a succsefull relatioinship is less likely to come about . so next logical thing was to look at coming to thailand after four years in the planning I arrived here last October, now have g/f soon to be wife and a new life . So my well meant suggestion to you is that you look at a new life rather than just filling in some holes in the one you have got. Good luck
