Alcohol intake and readings can also be a little cloudy

eg

Beers,( say 4.5 / 5 % ) and Belgium at 8%

Wines - 12%

Spirits - 40%

Sparkling wines / champagnes - more rapid absorption as the alcohol is broken down faster in the liver ( its why women at xmas time get caught blowing over the limit , with only 2 glasses etc )

The blood alcohol reading also drops by approx 0.01 per hour, with normal metabolism . I wouldnt gamble on that to get you over the line if your tested.

What is MODERATION?
One two three Once again you have one drink , beer small or large, one alcoholic drink, one mixed drink, one glass of wine______________________ DONT DRIVE!!!!!!!
Then you dont have to worry about 0.05 and be on Udonmap or any other media outlet in Thailand

The video of the incident gives us additional information. He started to drive away after the initial collision and when the motorbike (and possibly a victim) was still wedged under the front of the truck. There's no way that he didn't know that the bike was there, -- he would have heard the metal of the bike grinding against the street and possibly the underside of the truck, not to mention that it would have been much harder for the truck to move. Interesting that the police shot the left front(?) tire out only after the truck had already crashed into the pole.

Even given that the motorbike was driving on the wrong side of the road, entered the roadway without looking, driver/passengers weren't wearing helmets, etc., IMO the truck driver was completely at fault.

Yep, just about concur with everything you say, you can see him revving the car in an attempt to roll over whatever it was under his car, the man is a savage and deserves the fullest extent of the law and if that's death I think it's justified, he showed no regard for the lives of those poor people. Drinking alcohol and driving shouldn't happen, the tuck tuks and taxis here are cheap enough and those people who think it's fine to share the whereabouts of the evening police checks should think about the possible consequences of doing so, getting drunk drivers off the road is right and proper no matter what nationality they are.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

But Falangs should know better right, coming from first world countries. He should get the book thrown at him, as he probably will, unless he has deep pockets.

One thing I have learned from this topic, above all others that generally appear on this forum, is that peoples' perception of right and wrong, fairness, moral judgement and justice are as diverse as the countries from whence we came. I have a tendency to believe that those of us from the West all think alike, but that is far from the case as evidenced by some of the extreme comments on this topic. I'm not saying that anyone in particular is right or wrong, I'm just making an observation! Twenty of us can watch that video and each of us sees it from a different perspective and forms a different opinion on what has happened and what the final verdict in the case should be. Very interesting indeed!

Good afternoon my friend..I totally agree, nothing new per see at all.Same with may topics here...PIE..PIZZAS..RESTAURANTS..to mention just a few.

If this person is really Mentally sick i hope he get some help from his Doc..prison does no one any good me think,or atleast very few.Growing up mentally, start cleaning up infront of your own frontdoor BEFORE me/you tell anyone else how to..And beeing locked up in a Thai prison..my guess this person will NOT have a chance to recover from any "mental dissorder",if that's the case indeed..It's my experinence (myself)to change your life around you need to take a stern look every day in the mirror and ask if this is who i want to be..not to many dare to do that..to walk the walk of life is easy on a fourlane road, take a dirtroad/narrow road..and you might find out something worthwhile..The raod of life is NOT easy to change..like any bad habbit...Make a plan, stick with it 110% and change will come.

Enough me babbling..;-).. hope my rambling make sence to those who read it..Have a mindfull and blessed afternoon everyone.

//DD..out..:-)

Parrot. Do you recall what local newswire that was from?

DuiDui49, I have information from a very reliable source who can confirm that Wach, the 14 year old boy who was in critical condition at Udon General Hospital, is now OUT of critical condition and is expected to go home within two weeks. He is alert and is responding to verbal commands. The photo below was taken less than an hour ago, and a meeting will be held with the boy's mother sometime this afternoon. Wach is NOT an orphan as previously reported; however, it is true that his aunt and her 11 year old son are in fact deceased as a result of the accident.

I have discovered that two different sites have been established for those who wish to make donations to aid in the continuing care of Wach and to help with the burial of his aunt and cousin. Those links are as follows:

http://www.weeboon.com/en/campaigns/sav ... ry-his-mum

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding ... ndonations

Quicker transfers of money can be made by using Paypal to [email protected]

As of today 21,000 baht has been raised out of the original goal of 50,000. I hope that we as expats can all pull together and show some love for this family by making a contribution of any size to aid in the cause.
