An interesting stat to come out of the Ashes series for aussie fans mainly

"Apart from the runout at the Gabba, all the English wickets have fallen to a New South Wales bowler. Is that a first for Australia ?" And Lyon ( NSW) got the run out of Vince at Brisbane.

Sydney Transport have responded with extra services to the SCG tomorrow.

Not anticipating a day 5 game, their management have put on 1 extra fairy sailing and 2 extra busses from Circular Quay.

Crowds will need to leave early as Traffic Police Inspector Eric explains that crowds like this only occur at NRL finals or at State of Origin Games when the Blues are winning.

Uber also expecting bumper bookings with Ahmed and his wife have filled up their Corollas in anticipation of huge numbers.

Yes wazza if your in Sydney why not get along to see history being made with Steve Smith lifting the trophy and urn, hopefully after a good result tomorrow making it 4 nil. Crowds will be down due to extrme hot weather and the fact that it is school holidays and most Sydney siders having left g the city having some where to go with the kids during the holidays. Up and down the coast are some of the best beaches in the world, even if you travel into Qld.
It is a gold coin day for entry by patrons tomorrow with the SCG trust donating another 1 dollar per entry, all money going to the McGrath foundation for breast cancer.
GO the aussies 4 nil

"As revenge for Sydney, can’t we schedule the next Ashes at home to be played at Old Trafford, Durham, Carlisle, John O’Groats and Lerwick?"

Bit soft your captain David. Sun comes out and he has to go to hospital for dehydration :D . All he needed to do was get on the Bombay Sapphire and tonic and he'd have been sweet. Needs to show a bit of British spirit. Don't remember any of me pommy mates in Udon pulling up short on the long walk between bars on a hot April or May pub crawl from Steve's, TJs and Mojos down to the farang alley. Hope the Aussie lads can take the last few wickets this afternoon after Root gets his well deserved maiden ton in Australia.

Normally one does celebrate their Ton until after you have grounded their bat , Watched the Marshes again today and lucky lucky , ball wasnt thrown well....LOL

Would be nice to see Root score at the SCG, Dean Jones knew how to bate in the middle when the heat was on.

The BBC blog site was asking for one word to describe the Ashes series. The one I liked was.........

Apparently Root has a bout of gastro enteritis.England have lost Moeen for 13 but a couple of centuries from Bairstow and Curran will secure a draw ! :D
How many of this England side have question marks against them for the tour of New Zealand ?
Stoneman,Vince,Ballance,Moeen,Foakes,Ball,Crane ? Even Cook had only one decent knock out of nine......Broad has had a poor tour, also.
But who to replace them with.....Hameed as a batsman,Buttler as no.2 wicket keeper,Rashid and Leach as spinners,Wood and Plunkett as pace bowlers, possibly ?
Still short of decent replacement batsmen, though.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Tataw

I would use disappointing.... there is some talent there, but batting and bowling and the all rounders all failed, together.

Warne got 1/150 in his first test and the rest is history Loved to see the leggie out there ( well saw picts and a few clips )

Smith has jumped up into another level, He will have his own Thunderbird Model and Win Wisdens Cricketer of The year

Yeah imagine playing a test match at Thung Si Mueang Oval in the middle of April...... Would be similar to what Deano did in Madras (Chennai) way back when. Michael Slater and Mark Taylor were talking about playing in India and Sri Lanka when they had extreme heat and humidity and how you could just never manage to get hydrated. At least in south east Aust you more or less have dry heat.
Poor old Root has made no return from lunch so the dehydration/gastro seems to have gotten the better of him.

Another just as amazing stat often overlooked by many

All the caught behinds and stumpings were taken by only 1 Keeper from Tasmania.

As I said when the squad was announced, this was a pretty poor England outfit.
With Stokes excluded, matters just got worse. While 1 player does not make a team he is a bowler the captain can always go to when things are just limping along & is capable of destroying any opposition bowlers' confidence in 15 minutes.
I thought it was a mistake to take so many inexperienced batsmen in vital positions & I blame the selectors for not giving 'candidates' opportunities in the England summer when the current below par side was so obviously inadequate for the task.

As it turns out it was the form of the established players that was so below par as to leave their newer team mates with little chance to impress.

Congratulations to Australia,

I can only hope that 2019 series is as one sided to the hosts as this one was.. :D

Yes congrats to the Aussies although I,m sure their fans would admit if Stokes would have been available then 2-2 would have been the likely outcome of the series! :-$

Agree Zidane, Stokes would certainly have provided the knock out punch for the poms.

There will be some here who may want to gloat but, aussies be the humble type, we will accept the victory for what it is.
It's only an ashes series and of no real meaning to most.
Although it was the 2nd highest attended ashes series only after a Bradman series way back after the depression. He only pulled the crowds in because there was no TV. :D

Well im eating Humble Marsh Pie, happy to

Was expecting a closer series to be honest.

Stokes was missed as he was needed to provide that knock out punch on the field also
