Not sure if Monty Python or Barry McKenzie did more for Australian Culture than Hoges,

But Marsh, must be some sort of Trojan Horse that CA havent explained to us the paying public, maybe its their revenge on the consumer to backing the players during the pay dispute,

a case of Som Num Na to the cricketing public, except the Poms , who must be suffering a sever bout of incontinence , or pissing themselves big time

Probably Hoges had most influence, but I remember tears running down my face the first time I heard the Bruce sketch on Python ..... ranked alongside the Canadian mounties in the lumberjack song

Marsh is a dead set ......... I can't come up with a printable adjective. Must have the best dossier on the selectors. He has scored 15 or less runs in 21 of his 42 Test innings. Of those, 7 are 1-5 runs, and 8 are ducks.
Still predicting 5 zip but with that sh7t squad it's the poms 5 oz 0.

Over in scenic Townsville,England are making hard work of beating a Cricket Australia XI.
Latest score....
Cricket Australia XI 250 and 162-3
England 515 (Stoneman 111,Malan 109,Root 83,Cook 70)

Congrats to the Aussie Sheilas on retaining The Ashes =D> Am I right in thinking that Elysse Perry would be a better bet at no.6 than Shaun Marsh ? ;)

On form she could choose her spot in the top 6 and she's also the best genuine all rounder we have.

A pretty dismal bowling performance by England on the last day saw them take only one wicket and the match petered out into a draw with Cricket Australia 364-4 in their second innings.
Sangha 133 and Short 134 not out put on 263 for the fourth wicket to earn a well earned draw for the Australians.

One thing I didn't realise is that Australian opener,Matt Renshaw, overlooked for the First Test was actually born in Middlesborough,England........makes a change from England getting the South Africans,Aussies and New Zealanders !

Usman Kwaja was born in Pakistan so we still got one interloper. How many you got in the 11 for next week? Outside of Root, Cook, Anderson and Broad (and Stokes when he arrives after the 2nd test) the rest are pretty well no names to Aussie cricket fans.

"England have named seamer Jake Ball ahead of Craig Overton in their side for the first Ashes Test against Australia in Brisbane.

Ball, 26, has recovered from the sprained ankle he suffered on 10 November and which kept him out of England's final warm-up game last week.

Australia have called up all-rounder Glenn Maxwell as cover for David Warner, who has a stiff neck, and Shaun Marsh, who has a sore back."

Now can ya see why I told you to keep that pair away from the sheep dip wazza :-&

"Warner is still a little bit stiff but he's feeling better and very confident," said Smith.
