Belgium v France tonight,1am Wednesday morning Thai time.
Hazard,de Bruyne,Lukaku and Courtois up against Mbappe,Pogba,Kante and Lloris....promises to be a cracker,on paper anyway.

25 planes arrived overnight with all the Germany fans coming for the Semi Final and Final (as they usually do)

France 1 Belgium 0
The match turned out to be a bit disappointing....not that that will bother the French ! Belgium had the majority of possession but failed to do anything with it.Hazard,de Bruyne,Lukaku all failed to rise to the occasion.
Although they only had 36% of the possession,the French had 19 shots at goal to Belgiums 9 but it was Umtitis towering header in the 51st minute that proved decisive.

Now in case anyone out there has forgotten

the second semi final is tonight....England v Croatia,kickoff 1am Thursday morning Thai time.
The main danger to England,as I see it,are Croatias star midfielders Modric and Rakitic.Let them dictate the play and Henderson could be very exposed as the defensive midfielder.Possibly Southgate might try to shore up the midfield by bringing Dier in.Personally,I'd leave out Sterling and push one of Lingard and Alli further up to support Kane.
Unlikely he'll do it....in Gareth we trust

Great start for England but Croatia look dangerous going forward,poor at the back though,so lets hope England can capitalise.

Unfortunately they did not, losing 2 to 1. Now who's going to predict winner between Croatia and France. I lean toward France only because the Croatia players must be dead tired after all the extra time play.

Lets face it,after the first 45 minutes Croatia were easily the better team and thoroughly deserved their victory.
England were lucky to get to extra time......Stones went to sleep for Croatias winner.
Trippier,Maguire and Pickford all played OK.....all I can say about Alli,Lingard and Kane is even Sterling played better than them.
But they made the semi finals for the first time since 1990.I think most people thought they would do well to reach the last 16.
So most people wanted a Belgium v England final and we've ended up with France v Croatia....its a conspiracy !

I hope the Croats win it but I think France will have too much for them.Mbappe and Griezmann up against Croatias dodgy defence…..Lovren,jeez !

Did you actually watch the game zid?

Both Alli & Lingard were given impossible jobs to do today. They were expected to chase the Croatian midfield both inside and wide and then when the pass went to the wing back they were expected to get back and cover that as well

That may and did work against poor quality midfielders, but never stood a chance against midfielders of this quality.

SERIOUS mistakes by the management team who were too arrogant to realise that they had to change things against a far better opposition. Having gone into the game with an attitude that they will have to change to play us, at no time did they change their system to counter what was happening on the field. All three subs were made "like for like" forward for forward/holding midfield for holding midfield/wing back for wing back. Did they not see that Plan "A" was not working? Where was plan "B".

At least now all these "experts" and "pundits" can take off their Rose coloured glasses and put away their song sheets for another couple of years .......... and we arent going to get embarrassed by the froggies

Yes, my waistcoat is going home (back to the shop) this morning.

England looked better in the first half, but started getting lax as the game went on. They missed chances in both halves. Scoring early does create the risk of players taking their foot off the ball so to speak. I thought in the second half they played too many long balls up, only to lose possession and put themselves back under pressure again.

No complaints from DM ... England failed to turn up on the big occasion and were deservedly beaten by an experienced well drilled Croatia who showed more passion , fight , talent and seemed fitter and quicker to the ball in most instances.

ONE MEANINGFUL SHOT ON TARGET IN 120 MINS SAYS IT ALL - THE BEST TEAM WON nothing else to say !! except ....

I would like to see Croatia win the WC but France with the pacey Mbappe n Griezmen up front and a more solid defence than England should see them prevail in the final .

Young n Sterling the biggest WC disapointments IMO but well done to Mr Southgate n his back oom staff for getting the boys to the semis.
