But my favourite song is by these three musicians, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Arm16wyUdI

LYM ...... perhaps an idea of what the song is and the artist may help .......... I for one am adverse to clicking willy nilly on links that dont tell you anything .......... for all I know "v=50q1mw_ASiU" could be Youtube jargon for bloomin acdc or some other similar cr*p [-X

It's Elvis in two live videos: 'Ready Teddy' and 'Hound Dog'. My favourite song is by Elvis, Scotty and Bill, 'Baby, Let;s Play House'.

Happy Thanksgiving.

"God Bless America," popularizes by Kate Smith in the fifties, might be a top song.

"Amazing Grace" is another candidate for the top song.

I’d be up for a cheek to cheek with you Vlad if our eyes met across a crowded room & any of these came on the jukebox
Don’t You Want Me - Human League
Do you Really Want To Hurt Me - Culture Club
I Can’t Make You Love Me - George Michael
I’m Not The Only One - Sam Smith
It’s Not Right But It’s Okay - Whitney Houston

   :yikes:
May the bridges I burn light the path in front of me

oh yes, they were really the days, when you espied the lady of your dreams, plucked up the courage to go across and said "May I have this dance" if she said yes, you held her hand and escorted her to the floor where you put your hand on her waist, pulled her close to you and for the next five minutes you were in heaven . That all finished with the advent of R&R where you just simply threw her about and jigged up and down like a crazed zombie for a few minutes, then spent the next ten minutes in the gents making sure your quiff was just right before going out and doing it all again . Yes no doubt in my book R&R killed romance, why I even heard one fella simply walk up to a girl and asked "Do you f..k" she replied "for you you sweet talker , I might "that was it they didn't bother to jive just simply got their coats .As I've said before"Fings ain't wat they used to be" I know which I prefer.

I hear ya! R&B started the rot and I recall the weekend dances in the 70's where the girls danced in a circle around their handbags on the floor, while the blokes circled like sharks, absolutely clueless about dancing but eager for the night's 'trap'. Having a decent motor was always a leg-opener but for those without wheels, cadging a ride to the dance in one of your mates 'pussy magnet' cars made getting back home all a bit perilous.

I recall trying the old charm method at a Sunday night dance at the Glen Ruth Hotel in Rutherglen. I had been eyeing a tall, fit-looking blonde lass the previous weekend so finally plucked up courage to ask only to get, "Can ye dance with me mate? I'm sweatin' already."
