The ones in Tops taste great as well, and can be frozen

In there today and got two of my favourites, choux pastry made just like the French do with fresh cream, 26bht each And these I always knew as Chelsea buns but called cinnamon buns in there , just 20bht each . Both deliciously fresh made .

The Japanese bakery ship, is one of Udons hidden little gems, very easy to walk past when leaving TOPS, but has excellent breads, and an ever changing range of cakes and buns. All at reasonable prices.

Re: Bread and croissants
Yamazaki was a favorite of Mrs tam when we lived in Pattaya and they do have decent selection but they are never an early morning, fresh from the oven sort of place and as noted, they bake small batches so easy to miss what you need. I had a look in Villa Market at UD Town the other day and there was a decent looking, un-sliced white loaf. I thought no worries since I do have great bread knife but at 85 baht, I thought they must be joking and decided to look around for more choices after the weekend.
Re: Bread and croissants
own fresh baked bread always best...
Re: Bread and croissants
Tam, I am told that the sour dough bread produced by the new Big C is good bread at a reasonable price. It is unsliced but they will slice for you if asked.
Only issue is that they don't make very many a day & so they are often out of stock if you go later on..

The sourdough was a big seller in the Big C Extra Central Pattaya location and it is a decent loaf for around 55 baht?BobHelm wrote:Tam, I am told that the sour dough bread produced by the new Big C is good bread at a reasonable price. It is unsliced but they will slice for you if asked.

Stopped by Yamazaki around 10 AM and they had about half a dozen 'English Bread' loaves ready but only the small ham filled croissants. The bread looks good but they slice it a tad thicker than I would like so only 8 slices for 58 baht. I usually make toast to go with my Harvey Fresh OJ and Nayung coffee so that's tomorrow morning's starter sorted out.
Re: Bread and croissants
You are right Bob Big C'S sourdough is a good loaf at 79 baht you have to be lucky as they do not bake a lot I slice my own.I buy mine from the old big c.

Re: Bread and croissants
I've sampled some in Laos, probably the best I've had out of France. They even speak French to add to the feel.
Re: Bread and croissants IN UDON THANI
Undeniably awesome bread and croissants in Vientiane. Bit of a bugger for the morning commute though!neeemu wrote:I've sampled some in Laos, probably the best I've had out of France. They even speak French to add to the feel.
Re: Bread and croissants - Yamazaki
New signage in the basement at Central indicates that Yamazaki will be opening 27th December this year.
