CCTV security?

Post by nabanga » July 28, 2017, 11:31 am

Is there a shop in Udon that sells, and is knowledgeable about household CCTV set-ups? I know places like Homepro & Home Ideal sell them, but I am hoping for more of a specialist shop with an owner who knows what he is talking about, so that he can explain it all to someone with not much knowledge of them.
We are coming from Vientiane next week and hope to take one back - theft is getting out of hand across the bridge here.

I have a CCTV man who installed the system in my apartments and I'm very happy with it. I can monitor my system wherever I am by iPad or iPhone and it wasn't incredibly expensive. The systems are all available in Landmark and generally speaking they are very knowledgeable about the systems they sell. The problem is that both only speak Thai, if you want my man's number then inbox me.

We purchased an 8 camera Watashi CCTV system at Home Pro. We had it installed by one of their contractors. We are satisfied with the installation done by the contractor. He came to the house and assessed the installation and gave us a proposal for installation of the system which included a single power supply that would power all of the cameras via a cable that consisted of RG6 for the video signal from the camera and two power wires that would deliver power to the cameras and a backup UPS fro the entire system. He purchased the extra hardware and cable from the D-Tech store on the 2nd floor at Landmark Plaza. There is a lady that works at the D-Tech store that speaks pretty good English. The D-Tech store at Landmark is an authorized Watashi dealer. They have done the Watashi warranty work for us since the installation was finished. They did a warranty repair on the DVR recorder and on one camera that failed since we had the installation done. The warranty repair in both situations did not cost us anything. The free warranty work was done on a camera that was over 1 year old. We are very satisfied with the performance with this system. If the system is connected to the internet you can access your DVR and cameras remotely on your cell phone using the Watashi Android or PC and I-Pad application.

I did my initial enquires in the landmark building as suggested by Vince, had the 2 outlets and was fortunate at one to have 1 girl was able to speak English.
A while ago but they had promos on different setup. She was able to explain the different types of cameras, inside, outside and differing pan angles, there's a choice of different cams.
Buy the main unit with a couple of spare plug in spots for any future needs.
All packages I looked at have wifi, internet and phone app capability.
The packages come supplied with a set length of cable to wire up the cams. Just an idea to have an estimate of how much cable you will need and buy it now.
You can buy additional spool length to suit your requirements.

I had a look today. There's a basic package with 4 x 2 megapixel day/night cameras 14999 baht. You can access the cameras via an app if you have the Internet connected. Installation 800 baht per camera.
We will upgrade the back yard camera, which was an additional 3000 baht, to keep an eye on the Tasmanian over the back fence. I think he's been trying to throw his empty Archa stubbies in to my garden.
