Reading another thread on um i can assure anyone that i am NOT the owner of central plaza food court. But I wish I were.

Just like posting alternative options for thai food at prices less than B80. In fact most food is around B50.

As most but not all sponsored threads that regularly advertise are western food then feel this thread has limited impact on their threads. As it's a completely different market.

OT......... I think CP food court is one of the worst, if not the worst, AND expensive food court, and worst Central food court that I've been to.

The worst Loki is the old Big C ,utter rubbish. Wouldnt feed my dog it.

I have always found the food court at old Tesco ok only ever ate Pad Thai when the cook got to know me I used to get huge serve usually more than I could eat for 50 baht but you need to be in and out before the lunch time rush/noise.

OT......... I think CP food court is one of the worst, if not the worst, AND expensive food court, and worst Central food court that I've been to.

The food court was packed out over the weekend, so I guess your in the minority.
Even week days lunchtime it's difficult to get a table.

eating out means to me eating something better as at home , so surely food courts are rarely on my menu ,
and even they appear not expensive i can do this a lot better and cheaper at home ...and in a quiet environment,
if you look close what you really get on your plate it isn't so cheap at all ...and not so good as at home ...
this is if you can cook of course

Rarely there, as I loath that / Big C even more than Tesco Lotus as an anchor store, and concur, if having to choice, Big C food court would lose to Central's. That is sad.

Sadly, I've had a few too many plates and bowls of food, as the only game in town, before Lotus arrived, if not wanting to go into Chareonsri Grand Royal, way back when. Street food usually won out.

Wow.........how things changed, and so much for the better. With all the food options now, food courts are way down on the list of choices for us.

Back in the day, foodcourts were one of the few places where you could pick up a plate of reasonably clean food (other than Maya and a precious few other places). My favorite foodcourt memory is circa first half of 1997, Big C foodcourt, lunchtime, in walk four youngish Thai guys with a bottle of Johnnie Black. They order up 4 bowls of soup and proceed to get knockered. That was one of the signs that something wasn't right with the economy or just the state of affairs in general. Sure enough, a few months later, the floor fell out.
Today, on rare occasion I buy a 100 Baht card at Central f/c.....and 50% of the time, I'll walk out and cash it in for 100 Baht. Nothing really wrong with the food......it's just not very good.

Agree you can get better food at thai places around town but parking, air conditioning and location can be an issue.

I find for general convenience the central food court good value.

I guess the 100s of lunch time diners every day agree too.

Food courts are what they are, cheap and basic food. That's not to say they won't taste good as in my experience they rarely disappoint. I almost always use the tesco one after a shop with the Mrs as she's spent all my cash. I'd always chose them over any fast food joints.

I agree with you mac.
I always get the crispy noodles (Mee Krob) or the stall which sells Duck next to the beer shop is also excellent.
The sauce they use is really tasty.

Will have to try the duck...cheers
