I think they have already spent 10+ years going backwards whilst thinking about what to do after Wenger. I really thought that this year someone ..... ANYONE in the Arsenal heirarchy might have had enough "balls" to tell the silly old duffer that his time has been and gone. Seems there was no way they could afford his wages anyway but his season was not an unqualified success - full of the sort of schoolboy errors that plague his career along with the odd moment of brilliance.
