Atlético still look a serious danger to the Gunners lifting the cup with the winners of a closely fought RB Leipzig against Marseille looking like the best Arsenal opponents for the semis..

Last night thousands of supporters lined the streets to meet the Manchester City coach with a hostile welcome before the Champions League quarter-final clash which the Reds’ went on to win 3-0 following a stunning display.
But smoke bombs and flares were let off and missiles, including bottles and cans, were thrown amid the chaotic scenes outside the ground before kick-off which saw two police officers also injured .
The driver’s door of Manchester City’s coach was smashed during the incident and it is understood a replacement was sent from Manchester.
A statement from UEFA released today read: “Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg match between Liverpool FC and Manchester City FC (3-0) played on 4 April in England.”

- Setting off of fireworks - Article 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR)
- Throwing of objects - Art. 16 (2) DR
- Acts of damage - Art. 16 (2) DR
- Crowd disturbances - Art. 16 (2) DR

Thousands of fans had lined Anfield Road two hours before kick-off to give Guardiola and his players a hot reception.
And the atmosphere had been vibrant before the coaches arrived - with a number of people climbing up lampposts, walls and road signs to catch a glimpse of the teams as they arrived.

Liverpool will have tread carefully at Manchester City on Tuesday after the appointment of one of Europe's more card-happy referees.
UEFA have chosen Spanish official Antonio Mateu Lahoz to take charge of the crunch quarter-final second leg at the Etihad.
Liverpool go into the game holding a 3-0 lead after dominating Pep Guardiola's side at Anfield last Wednesday.
In 18 domestic games in Spain this season, Mateu Lahoz has brandished 92 yellow cards, three reds and awarded nine penalties..........
Oh !! Good.....

Re: European Cups 2017/18
i am absolutely flabbergasted by the Roma result though..no media hype in the UK press, out the competition after the first leg. This is also a very big deal!!!
Re: European Cups 2017/18
City got off to a great start, scoring after only 2 minutes, and Liverpool were under the cosh for most of the first half.
There was a contentious moment just before half time when City had a goal ruled out for offside although it appeared Liverpools Milner had the last touch beforehand,so maybe a bit of luck for The Reds there......Guardiola went beserk and was sent to the stands.
But once Salah scored,on the hour, that meant City had to score 4 to win 5-1 and go through. That was never going to happen and Firmino added a second for Liverpool to make it a miserable night for the hosts.
So,3 defeats on the bounce for City with maybe a 4th coming up this weekend at The Spuds.....Guardiola under pressure and City a team in decline never mind,Neil Warnock is waiting in the wings to take over next season !
Congratulations to Liverpool on a deserved aggregate win and lets hope they can go all the way and lift the Champions League trophy.
No doubt we will here from Taxi and dezzer later and 747man will be logging in to add his congratulations once he has done his shopping at Tesco Lotus Nong Khai !
Yes,a huge shock in Roma knocking out Barca.....not even mat80 could see that coming cant see Real Madrid or Bayern slipping up though.
