Pool finally get their show on the Champions' League road & with a vengeance. Spartak do them an additional favour by thrashing previous leaders, Sevilla, in Moscow. Looks like it will be a close run thing for the first 2 spots.

Citi can't replicate their stunning League scoring but that is of little consequence as they make it 3 out of 3. Shakhtar Donetsk take advantage of second place rivals, Napoli, loss to Citi to move clear by 3 points.

Besiktas also have a perfect record in Group G. Poor Monaco are languishing in last place after the summer loss of just too many players..

Spurs are managing to make an almost impossible to qualify from Group H look like a walk in the park. Excellent result in Spain sees them locked at the top with Madrid. The best possible result for them in the other game, a draw, sees them 6 points clear of third. Very encouraging indeed..

In Group A. United make it 3 out of 3 with a workmanlike performance in Portugal. Basel are well placed in second after a very good away win in Moscow.

In Group B. PSG also maintain a 3 out of 3. Bayern dismiss poor Celtic.

In Group C. Chelsea maintain a 2 point lead against last night's opponents Roma. Having been 2 goals up they might be a bit disappointed, however with Athletico again only managing an away draw the Group looks very much under Chelsea control.

Group D seems already set & buried. Barca 3 out of 3, Juventus second, although both made heavier weather than necessary against the dross last night..

Everton bottom of Group E at the half way stage & need a miraculous second half to qualify.
The Gunners have a 5 point lead at the top of Group H & would need a serious change in fortunes not to qualify out of the group.

"Merseyside Police say they are investigating a pitchside incident at Goodison Park "

A police spokesman said that it had come as a bit of a surprise to them, as up until now, nothing had happened anywhere near the Goodison Park pitch this season :-$

Here We Go AGAIN........UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Everton for “aggression from fans against players” during their UEL game against Lyon.

Ronald Koeman should be appointed to head up the UK's Brexit negotiations. He's taken Everton out of Europe in just over 3 hours

It depends completely on what control he has over the transfer market at the club.
Luk made it absolutely clear a year ago that he was on his way.
If the manger knew that & didn't ask/demand that a new striker of equivalent value was found to replace him was found then I agree he should go.
Given that they made a half hearted attempt to snatch a striker from The Gunners then that seems unlikely.

As Misters Ranieri & Shakespeare found at Leicester, it is only possible to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear is only possible for a VERY short time...
