are you sure ? i thought the pictures could not be older than 6 months.... :?:
6 months old is the regulation, but as long as the photo is a like resemblance of your current self, no one is going to say anything about it. I've been using my batch for 4 years and each time the clerk comments that "I am a hansum man"!

I did need a photo. I guess all the documents are not computerized yet. Seems so much simplier to just put a camera on the office computer and grab a photo while you do data entry. Oh well, maybe in a few decades.

So I take it you use something else for your residence paperwork? They don't "ask" for my YB, I supply a copy instead of a lease or rental document to show my local address.

I'm also hoping to test out using my YB to buy a scooter in the near future without resorting to a Resident Certificate like I had to do for the last two scooters I bought.

I have done marriage extensions the past couple of years in Udon Thani and each time the officer has recommended I do a retirement extension as it is a lot easier and quicker. I will be taking her up on the offer next week. I will bring the same tome of paperwork but won't be bringing the wife and son as I understand she only needs to present herself for the marriage extension, correct?

So passport with copies of the original enabling Non-O visa and each subsequent extension-related stamp and current TM6 landing card.
Completed TM7 form with passport pics (one extra pic for the re-entry permit that I will need), original and copy of proof of income letter, local bank statement, yellow book, wife's ID, wife's blue book and a map.

I won't be doing the proof of seasoned funds in local bank as the proof of income letter and local bank statement should suffice as it has done for the previous two extensions.

That about it?

Tamada, if you have the required income by using the Income Affidavit, I don't think I would confuse and complicate matters by producing a bank statement. If you're using monthly income plus money in the bank to meet the requirement, then that's okay. I've done the retirement extension for three years now and the Income Affidavit has always been sufficient with no questions asked.

Just dropped off my extension paperwork this morning, using only the US Embassy letter. No bank statements, bank book, or any other financial supporting documents, and had no problem with getting my 30 pending stamp.

Submitted my paperwork yesterday and was asked for all the above.
the officer went through everything with a fine tooth comb, even got his Calandar out to check the exact amount of days the finances were in the bank for
But he was pleasant enough so no complaints from me

today i saw a poster outside at the immigration front door (on the right side) stating that the process for visa-extension will only take 16 minutes (!).
unfortunately had no camera with me.
maybe someone else will take a picture and post it here.

Just returned from doing my annual extension, as predicted the office was reasonably quite being Xmas day.

First in so the Boss (I assume as each staff member arrived they wai to him!) asked Mrs Dero and me to sit then away we went. I had a new passport so it took about 30 minutes just to sort it, not his fault, he had any number of new interns stuffing up the photo copies he wanted. (I had em all pre packaged but he indicated he preferred his staff do it as a part of their learning curve).

Anyway during the lull in proceedings I discussed (through Mrs Dero) with him the 30 Day "Under Consideration" aspect of the Retirement Extension. He explained it was a specific order from above and yes they were given authority to ask for 1500 Baht to do a fast track. BUT the passport holder does NOT have to attend in person to get the 12 month stamp in the 7 days prior the 30 day expiry of consideration. A proxy can do it.

Basically, if I have to do an emergency trip home during the next 3 weeks they will complete the extension for 1500 Baht, I can then get the re-entry permit and away I go.

2400 Baht - 500 being for the visa transfer into my new passport - AND no I didn't ask for a receipt for ANY of it - I mean it is Xmas isn't it! Ho Ho Ho. :-$

Just to add, they are no longer allowed to "Staple" the TM 6 "Departure" card into your passport, apparently this includes the Immigration Desks at the Airports. Mine was stapled and he was not impressed, removed the staple and used a paper clip??

Just guessing that some micro chips have been damaged??

AND, there was NO mention of Bank Statements to prove income from abroad.

I did my extension just a bit over a week ago same guy probably the same students everything was stapled back in, 90 days prior he also did my check staples again?

I gave him my letter from the bank plus a copy of my current bank book which has everything for the past 4 months still asked me to produce my bank book which he spent 3-4 minutes checking.

So I guess it depends on the mood and the day, the students? not very smart.

I have a couple of pages in my passport that have the look of a dart board.
