City put out s strong side too Bob so they cannot blame the fact they played youth or there reserves like Liverpool did. Thats what makes the FA Cup what it is its a case of who wants it the most.

I didn't see the game but many congratulations to Wigan !
It is what the FA Cup is all about.....giant killing, contentious sending off, altercation between the managers at half time, winner with 10 minutes to go with only 17% possession overall, fracas at the end between the home supporters and the visiting players after pitch invasion !
Good luck to Everton in their tie.....are they playing later in the week,Alan ?.....oh ! :(
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Oh great, can I come round and watch some very OLD games ?............ I'm assuming you get a regular selection from the Black & White Army

Perhaps Niggly & Pan could come round? ...... oh hang on ...... have you got an old Radio as well (they will probably want to listen to Alan Clarkes greatest goal and that was on the BBC Home service I think)
Nah, I don't fancy NK. I hear its full of killer scorpions, snakes and centipedes.

Firstly, congratulations to Rochdale who thoroughly deserved the draw. Absolutely. =D> =D>[/b

Indeed it could be said they should have won because it was never a penalty. :-s :-s

That is a very categorical statement, in the light of al the evidence to the contrary Zid. [-X Your bible, (Google), records it WAS a penalty; The Official FA website, similarly officially records it WAS a penalty; the referee, officiating the game, awarded the penalty which decision is now a matter of record. Finally, a panel comprising Shearer, Lineker & Jenus, ( a trio considered somewhat more experienced & knowledgable about football matters than us amateur armchair critics),after some discussion, unanimously agreed the referee made a correct decision. I did try to obtain Alderweireld's opinion, but he felt he was not FIT ENOUGH to express his view! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
So do you still insist it was not a penalty and, if so, the authorities/authority upon which you rely to support your contention. I will happily accept, without question, Pochettinno's opinion, just to show my neutrality!!

;) ;) :-" :-" :D :D   \:D/ \:D/

You have a choice of two answers, both of which are pertinent, Zid.
1. Wait until you are approaching 86 years of age :-s and, assuming you are still with us at that stage :-k see how long it takes you!!
2. Happy to report I have a full & contented life, and am not addicted to turning on my computer, or even my 20+ year old mobile 'phone everyday  . Hence my responses are not always immediate, and certainly very seldom the same day.
PS. Of course, I have no intention of admitting to you that it did take me a good hour of my very valuable time, putting the post together; so that you would get the point! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

And hello to you too , sean, ( or should that be Mr. ha ha man  ).
I bow to your superior knowledge regarding 12 year old schoolgirls ha ha :-k , However, contrary to what you write, and based on the date of your last post here, unfortunately,, it appears that, rather than put you to sleep, I have woken you up. :(
Anyway, just enter "add foe" against my name; YOUR problem solved. :D
PS. ha ha ha

I have totally dismissed him from my mind already, Alan, having entered him onto my 'add foe' list, immediately following my response to his post which, incidentally, made no reference to the FA Cup, this thread' s topic.

Tottenham Hotspur 6 - 1 Rochdale
As usual in the 'near thing' FA cup draws, the senior side get through the replay fairly easily.
Statts will be delighted, though, that all the major talking points about the game revolve around VAR. :D :D

  Perhaps you or someone in the know could answer one of my "obvious" questions that don't seem to be getting answered .....

If VAR can be used to make a decision about if Son did or didn't feign or stop in his run up, how on earth are ANY penalty goals ever given during VAR games? For the last 5 or so years EVERY goalkeeper without fail has moved in front of his goal line BEFORE the kick is taken . This IS a clear and obvious error and should require the kick to be retaken (probably 10 or 20 times  ). Also there were about 6 or 7 players from both teams inside the penalty area which requires the kick to be retaken ......... before you can even consider making a ruling on the validity of the kick itself.

Yet another case of VAR being a CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERROR.

Also the game was stopped in excess of 8 mins in the first half, but only 5 were added on during a period that Rochdale were having probably their best period of the game ........ If they are considering VAR as an option SURELY there has to be a "Running clock" on view to all players/spectators which stops/starts when the ref stops his watch (like Ice Hockey) . It would also make the slow trudge from the most distant part of the field to be substituted a thing of the past as the time it took is the time that is added on whether it be 10 secs or 90 secs.
