Great to see the mighty Everton driving another thread along very nicely. Everton was as big a focus on the Map as Prince Harry was in May.
Football lovers might be a bit concerned Everton will overshadow the World Cup.

The Blue Noses could not overshadow Accrington Stanlely at present with their negative attitude to football totally and utter shambles that club, about time their board relalise this and off load the driftwood.

Re: Football Rumours Mark 2
Frank Lampard as the new Derby manager.....a bit of a surprise as he's got no managerial experience and the Derby chairman,Mel Morris,doesnt come across as the easiest chairman to get along with.....7 managers in 3 years is it ?
Frank is an intelligent guy but I would think the play offs is the minimal expectation....mid table or worse come December and it could be bye bye.
Zinedine Zidane leaves Real Madrid.....maybe not such a shock as they are an ageing team in need of a rebuild.Unlikely they will win La Liga or the UEFA Champions League next season and its likely he knew he would be the fall guy.Leaving at the top after 3 successive Champions League titles should make him a much sought after coach.
But who will Real replace him with ? Pochettino was talked about a lot last season but he's just signed a 5 year deal at The Spuds this week......interesting but worrying for veteran poster mat80.....still,Pardew is still available for either vacancy.
Marco Silva to Everton.....great excitement amongst the Everton fan(s) on the forum.Its like being at a disco as a teenager and finally pulling after weeks of rejections.To be fair,his teams do play nice football (Watford the first 3 months of last season) but he's only got a 31% win rate and has already taken a team down into the Championship.He plays attacking football but tends to neglect the defensive side.With veterans like Baines,Jagielka and Williams needing to be replaced its a worry,plus all the dross he'll inherit from last season,of course.

Re: Football Rumours Mark 2
There's been alot said by blues over the past few days re Liverpool's loss in the final. So, it's only fair we look at our neighbours' most recent performances in Europe this season. Here goes;
Evertons last H O M E game in the Europa League was way back in November. A 5-1 loss infront of 17,000 people resulting in the worst ever start in Europe by an English side.
Ang on....17,000? That means that 23,000 Evertonians turned down a £15 match ticket and stayed away..... Yet months later many of them went out and spent £60 on a Madrid shirt to jump round the pub in coz they were playing against their neighbours
Ay lads, I thought there was a powershift happening??????

It's great to see the Toffees still driving another Map thread along very nicely just as Prince Harry has been doing for the Windsors recently.

CCan't disagree with your summary Zid, while adding the obvious that, in these enlightened times , in a contracts v money contest, contracts automatically become meaningless, plus invariably there exists contract loopholes. I cannot remember where I read it, but I remember thinking Pochettino's salary was a joke compared to those of his contemporaries in the EPL; so I doubt Real would have any hesitation in buying out Pochettino's contract, if he proves to be RM's choice. Of course, if RM want to obtain the services of the best, the most experienced, and one of the most respected Manager with a proven repetitive record of completely rebuilding teams, then I suggest Real Madrid offers Arsne Wenger a three year contract. Problem solved! [Zidane wrote: ↑June 1, 2018, 10:21 am
