Just added this and the Line App, takes you back to their Grab App anyway.
Grab - Thailand Uber
Re: Grab - Thailand Uber
Where does the taxi pick you up at the airport? I assume when you confirm the booking, you get the cab rego and watch for him in the drop-off/pick-up zone? So booking the pick-up time is essential (add an extra 15 minutes?) as he won't be allowed to wait if your flight is late or the baggage claim is slow?wazza wrote: ↑September 10, 2017, 1:04 pmUpdate
Their vehicles will drop off and pick up at the Airport with out any issues.
I have found a few times, that 1600-1700 hrs they dont have as many cars available, 1 driver says because of the traffic jam in the CBD and surrounding feeder roads etc
Many comments that Aliens / AKA farang AKA expats are using the service.

Imagine so....
Confirm you get driver picture and vehicle details on confirmation of booking.
They generally ring to confirm all details. So could discuss detailed pick up time and location

This morning getting off plane booked one via the app and by the time I was roadside it was there.
Basically while waiting for the plane's door to open I booked Grab - easy
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left
Re: Grab - Thailand Uber
Cool guys, thanks!
I have only used it once before a couple of years ago to get a Pattaya taxi to pick up Mrs tam from downtown and take her back home after I got stuck at immigration. The cheeky bugger whined all the way about how low the fare was... I guess HE didn't read the small print when he signed up. He didn't get a tip!
Just re-installed the app on my phone and the screen shots from the App store reminded me that you get the cab number and his picture when booking so I will give it a shot tomorrow night.

Epic fail. Arriving at UTH at 8.30 PM on a wet and windy Friday night and trying to register with Grab was a dismal failure. Since there was absolutely no taxis available, I called Mrs tam with 4% remaining on my battery and she came and got me... Bless her heart.
I do note this morning that I have a dozen 4-digit account codes via sms from Grab!

Re: Grab - Thailand Uber
Used grab for the first time this morning. Very easy and about half the price a stinky Samlor rat would try and charge me.
It was a lady driver and she called before she came to ask how many passengers. When she turned up she had brought her daughter along for the ride. Oh and she spoke good English as well.
Will use grab again for sure.

Re: Grab - Thailand Uber
Thank you everyone for posting about the Grab app--I will definitely use it. Any luck lately outside the Ring Road?
Re: Grab - Thailand Uber
Did you get the name of the lady driver, and is it possible to choose among drivers? (I am a lady and prefer to use lady drivers )

The app chooses rhe closest available driver.
You could get the number of the female driver and ring direct..
Sorry. I deleted here details already.

Still no luck outside ring road.
I think it is because they must have a driver within so many km and do not charge to go get you, just for the trip.
I guess it will continue to be a good thing within the ring road. Much better than a Samlar

Grab now collecting outside the ring road.
Recently used them to take and collect from the airport. Good cheap service and brand new car.
