Thanks Bob.
The FA Trophy at Wembley kicks off at 10.15pm Thai time and I believe is being shown live on BT Sport.
In the Conference,Macclesfield finished 9th and York 21st with The Minstermen being relegated for the second successive season.Next season York will be playing in the Conference North alongside other recent former Football League teams like Stockport County,Darlington,Kidderminster and Boston United.
However, statistics can be misleading as York actually did the double over Macc last season.......1-0 at Bootham Crescent and 3-1 away at Maccs Moss Rose Ground.
Macclesfield have won the FA Trophy twice in 1970 and 1996 and York once in 2012.
So it could be a close encounter but lets hope The Silkmen come out on top ! [-o< \:D/

This from the BBC......

FA Trophy final 2017: York want Wembley win after relegation blow

York City's league season ended in a first ever relegation to the sixth tier of English football
Buildbase FA Trophy final

Venue: Wembley Stadium Date: Sunday, 21 May Kick-off: 16:15 BST Coverage: BBC Radio York and BBC Radio Manchester via the BBC Sport website and app, plus live scores online.

York City are looking to use Sunday's FA Trophy final against Macclesfield to move on from "a difficult time", according to boss Gary Mills.
The Minstermen suffered a second successive relegation to drop down to National League North after drawing with Forest Green on 29 April.
"Out of what has happened there are a lot of positives," Mills, 55, told BBC Radio York.
"Last season has gone for me, this is next season."
He added: "I've got Jon Parkin signed up for next season and 90% of the players have told me they want to play for me next season and I think that is fantastic.
"I want us to look at this game like the Community Shield and if we can win it it sets us up for the season."

Macclesfield have a full strength squad to choose from with either Scott Flinders or Craig Ross in goal or either Neil Byrne or John McCombe to partner George Pilkington in the centre of the defence.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

The FA Trophy

Macclesfield Town 2-3 York City
Macclesfield fought back twice from being a goal down but couldn't repeat the feat when York scored just before the end of play..
Better luck next year, although York themselves would probably prefer to be playing in the National league next season than having this trophy on their shelves!!

Yes,disappointing for Macc who played the better football but Yorks clinical finishing was the difference in the end.
Well played York and hope you bounce back to the national Conference next season.
Possession : Macc 53% York 47%
Shots : Macc 22 York 13
Shots on target : Macc 9 York 6
Corners : Macc 7 York 1
But its goals that count.... =;
Attendance : 38,224
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Well the mighty whites of Leeds are under new ownership. Might be a frying pan/fire situation but after a kid in a sweetshop in Risdale, a university maths professor, an Insolvency Pratitioner, Ken Bates (no comment necessary) and a megalomaniac eccentric we deserve a break.

If you want to checkout the megalomaniac, eccentric Cellino's record at Elland Road, the BBC sets it out here

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40021074

And people wonder why we Leeds fans feel the world is against us!!

Well PM he cannot be worse than Cellino. :D
Personally I always felt that the FA failed in their duty when they allowed him to take over Leeds. His record with Cagliari Calcio should have filled Leed's supporter with dread from the start.

The new man appears to be someone who has made a lot of money out of sport, rather than have a deep love of Leeds in particular. Mind you I think that is the case of the majority of new owners coming into English football at the moment..

Newcastle fan TV had a pole for umpteen end of season awards, with thousands voting. Biggest surprise to me was to see the vote for the BEST AWAY SUPPORTERS to visit 2016/17 given to Leeds Utd fans

Certainly wouldn't have happened in my day

Official press release from the Mighty Whites

Andrea Radrizzani has completed his takeover of Leeds United.

Radrizzani, who purchased 50% of the club in January, has acquired the remaining 50% stake from Massimo Cellino and in doing so takes full control of the club.

Andrea Radrizzani said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to become a custodian of this great football club.

“The heritage and history of Leeds United attracted me to the club and having spent time at games and at Thorp Arch, I can see that we are ready to move forward to the next level.

“This is a long-term commitment, there is a lot of hard work ahead of us and I am aware of my responsibilities as owner of Leeds United.

“I can assure all supporters that everyone at this club will be doing all we can to build a successful team at Elland Road.”

Andrea Radrizzani also becomes chairman of Leeds United with immediate effect.

That's a blow

I was only reading an article published 7 hours ago on the Leeds website where Radrizzani was interviewed & saying a lengthier agreement with Monk was on his agenda & he was offering him a contract until the end of next season while they discuss plans for the year ahead

Yes, that is confirmed by the Beeb as well.
Garry Monk has resigned as manager of Leeds United, the club have announced.

A statement said: "Leeds United can confirm we have received Garry Monk’s resignation from his role as first team manager. We are shocked and disappointed by Garry’s decision but his resignation has been reluctantly accepted by chairman Andrea Radrizzani.

"Andrea made it clear to the media yesterday that his intention was to exercise the club's option to extended the manager's contract for another 12 months and immediately begin negotiations for a longer term deal.

"Mr Radrizzani has met with Garry twice since taking over at Elland Road earlier this week and during the second meeting yesterday it became clear that Garry was considering life beyond Leeds United as at no time did Garry wish to discuss terms for a longer contract.

"Following that meeting yesterday Garry’s agent requested the option was not exercised and his resignation was received this morning."

Maybe Silva to Leeds ?? He'd be a good acquisition if he'd be prepared to spend a season in the Championship..

Marco Silva: Hull City manager resigns after the club's relegation

Marco Silva has resigned as Hull City manager after the club's relegation.
The Portuguese, 39, replaced Mike Phelan in January on a deal until the end of the season but could not save them from the drop to the Championship.
He led Hull to six wins from his 18 Premier League games, with relegation confirmed after a 4-0 defeat by Crystal Palace on 14 May.
In a statement, Hull said they were "disappointed" by the departure of a "firm fans' favourite".
The club were relegated in the penultimate week of the season and Silva said at the time: "It's my goal as a manager to work in the Premier League."
The former Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos manager has been linked with Watford after the dismissal of Walter Mazzarri, but said recently he had not received an offer from the Hornets or any other club.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Sky Bet League Two

Blackpool 2-1 Exeter City
Blackpool promoted the season after they were relegated.
Still 'owner issues' with the fans as only 6,000 bother to travel to see the game.

The innovative new service will enable overseas EFL fans to follow their team’s entire 2017/18 season
The EFL has today unveiled iFollow, an innovative digital live streaming and content platform that will revolutionise the way football fans overseas can follow their EFL teams.

iFollow will, for the first time in English football, enable EFL fans based outside the UK and Ireland to watch their team during the regular EFL season.

With an estimated 270,000 EFL fans based outside the UK, iFollow will allow clubs to enable their supporters to follow the action wherever they are in the world.

Leeds United are delighted to announce the appointment of Victor Orta in the role of Director of Football, joining the club from Middlesbrough.

With a strong reputation across Europe, Victor began his career at Sevilla in 2006, the year the Spanish side won the UEFA Cup.

Following the success, Orta was promoted to the role of Technical Director with the Spanish outfit, before leaving in 2013 to join Zenit Saint Petersburg.

After a short spell at Elche, Orta joined Middlesbrough in December 2015 and was instrumental in their automatic promotion to the Premier League in May 2016.

Speaking about his new role at Leeds, Orta said: “I am excited by the opportunity to become Director of Football at a great club like Leeds United.

“Once I had met with Andrea Radrizzani and spoken to him about his plans to take the club forward, I knew that this was the right move for me and I am confident that we can achieve great things in the coming years.”

Chairman Andrea Radrizzani added: “I am delighted to welcome Victor to Elland Road, I have been impressed by his knowledge of the game, his extensive scouting network and his desire to help us achieve our objective of getting Leeds United back to the Premier League."

The appointment of Victor Orta comes just days after the club announced Angus Kinnear is to become the clubs new Managing Director.
