Goodison ........ you try saying Uddersfield after holding your breath for the entire penalty shootout and see what it sounds like
Congrats to Mr Wagner and his team ............ does this mean we will have the Ride of the Valkyries as the theme tune for match of the day next season

Leeds United are delighted to announce the appointment of Victor Orta in the role of Director of Football, joining the club from Middlesbrough.
With a strong reputation across Europe, Victor began his career at Sevilla in 2006, the year the Spanish side won the UEFA Cup.
Following the success, Orta was promoted to the role of Technical Director with the Spanish outfit, before leaving in 2013 to join Zenit Saint Petersburg.
After a short spell at Elche, Orta joined Middlesbrough in December 2015 and was instrumental in their automatic promotion to the Premier League in May 2016.
Speaking about his new role at Leeds, Orta said: “I am excited by the opportunity to become Director of Football at a great club like Leeds United.
“Once I had met with Andrea Radrizzani and spoken to him about his plans to take the club forward, I knew that this was the right move for me and I am confident that we can achieve great things in the coming years.”
Chairman Andrea Radrizzani added: “I am delighted to welcome Victor to Elland Road, I have been impressed by his knowledge of the game, his extensive scouting network and his desire to help us achieve our objective of getting Leeds United back to the Premier League."
The appointment of Victor Orta comes just days after the club announced Angus Kinnear is to become the clubs new Managing Director.

Which presumably means Karanka will follow as Manager. Best of a bad bunch as far as I am concerned

Re: Grass roots Footie 2016/17 season
Former Porto manager Nuno Espirito Santo has joined Wolves.
The 43-year-old former goalkeeper has managed Rio Alve, Valencia and Porto.
He led Portuguese side Rio Alve to the Europa League for the first time in the club's history and then achieved a fourth place finish in La Liga with Valencia.
Nuno guided Porto to a second-placed finish last season, but was sacked after finishing the season trophyless.
He succeeds Paul Lambert as Wolves manager, after the Scot left the club on Tuesday after seven months in charge.
Difficult to keep up with the pace of the moves at the moment!!Paul Cook has signed a three-year deal with Wigan after agreeing a deal to leave League Two champions Portsmouth.

GIGGS BACKED FOR BLACK CATS
In other, less expected, managerial developments, Ryan Giggs has been backed in from 25/1 to just 1/2 to be the next Sunderland boss, with Sky Bet reporting a run of interest. Aberdeen's Derek Mcinnes had been odds-on for the post for a number of days but has now drifted out to 6/4.

Leeds opt for Christiansen
There's a few quid down the drain for those backing Juande Ramos. The Leeds job has gone to Thomas Christiansen, the 44-year-old former Oviedo and Villarreal striker, who took Cypriat side APOEL to the last 16 of the Europa League for the first time in their history.

Life's a bitch
Sunderland will be forced to pay Inter Milan in excess of £9 million after they lost a court ruling over the transfer of Ricky Alvarez. According to reports in Italy, the Court of Arbitration for Sport have ruled in Inter Milan's favour to bring an end to a saga that has rumbled on since 2015. Sunderland signed Alvarez in 2015 on a year long loan, to be converted into a permanent deal should they stay in the Premier League. Alvarez missed much of that season through injury and with the Black Cats arguing that meant they could not be expected to sign him, he effectively became a free agent. Alvarez now plays for Sampdoria but Sunderland will have to stump up the fee. The Argentinian made just 13 appearances for the Black Cats.

More money than sense some people
BREAKING NEWS
A £100m (surely they mean 100m Lao Kip) takeover deal for Sunderland could be agreed in principle by the end of this week, Sky Sports News HQ understands.
Two rival bids, one from Germany and a second, a multi-national consortium, led by a group of Sunderland fans and financed in part with American money are working night-and-day to reach agreement with present owner Ellis Short.

The Sunderland fans have changed their minds about buying the club, but,
"Another takeover bid, from a German consortium, is still in the running, with Sunderland stating on Friday that they are keen to finalise a sale of the club quickly, with finding a new manager also a priority.
The Black Cats, who face a first season in the Championship since 2007, are without a manager following David Moyes' departure in May."
Sounds like their nearly at Rock Bottom ....... they only need to appoint Alan Pardew to complete the job.

Former Premier League stars Wes Brown, Shay Given and Alex Bruce are training with Vanarama National League side Macclesfield.
All three live locally and have joined the Silkmen, who finished ninth in the table and were FA Trophy finalists at Wembley, for pre-season to maintain their fitness levels and undertake some coaching.
This summer ex-Manchester United and Sunderland defender Brown was released by Blackburn, former Republic of Ireland, Newcastle, Manchester City and Aston Villa goalkeeper Given's contract expired with Stoke and Bruce - son of Villa manager Steve - was let go by Hull.

Re: Grass roots Footie 2016/17 season
Yes,I think Brown and Given are just helping out with the coaching as they are taking their badges this summer.
Bruce is looking for a new club and I would think he will get snapped up by a League 1 or League 2 side.
Wouldnt mind Given in the sticks as I think he could still do a job in the Conference even at age 41.
But its strikers Macc need......they currently only have one.
The town has been awash with rumours since Wayne Rooney was spotted in McDonalds but Maccs manager has said they are looking for a more mobile front man.
