He's good for 20+ Championship goals a season ...... might be able to do a deal for B1500, a couple of washers and Bertha (I've 'eard she's a bit tasty "up front") ;)
Sorry Niggly you weren't quick enough ..... now sky have got hold of it

GAYLE SET FOR EXIT?

Newcastle could be set to offload striker Dwight Gayle before Thursday's deadline - but only if they manage to line up a replacement.

Gayle was left out of the Rafa Benitez's squad on Saturday as both strikers Joselu and Aleksandar Mitrovic scored in the 3-0 win over West Ham.

Despite ending last season as top scorer in the Championship, the 27-year-old has failed to shine in the opening two defeats to Tottenham and Huddersfield and was dropped at the weekend.

A selection of EFL (Checkatrade) Trophy results from last night.......

Forest Green 2 Newport 0 (attendance 1,090)
Oldham Athletic 0 Port Vale 0 (Port Vale win 4-2 on penalties) no attendance given.....possibly no-one there.
Scunthorpe 3 Sunderland U 21's 1 (attendance 1,127)
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Things looking rosy for the Vale then .......... PLUS the game against Newcastle U21's to come and with it an attendance nearing 200 (assuming Newcastle bring their 135 fans to that one)

DONE DEAL - FLINDERS TO CHELTENHAM

Cheltenham have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Scott Flinders. The 31-year-old has been without a club since being released by Macclesfield at the end of last season.
I am sure Zid will be highly amused.. :(
Not good enough for the Silkmen ???
At least he will get plenty of bending practice at Town.. :D

I can think of quite a few others at the moment who are either feigning injury or just not trying in order to get a move away, so Flinders isn't the first and won't be the last to try that tactic Bob

Flinders had a 2 month loan from York to Macc at the back end of last year and, apparently, was quite good.
He was then released by York at the end of January and signed for Macc until the end of the season.
His second spell was pretty atrocious by all accounts. He replaced Craig Ross as the no.1 keeper and many Macc fans thought Ross was hard done by.
Flinders was released by Macc at the end of the season but Ross was retained, although he decided to join League 2 Barnet instead.
If Cheltenham are budgeting for Conference South football in a couple of years then I'd say Flinders is a pretty shrewd acquisition ! :D

Leeds have signed striker Pierre-Michel Lassoga on a season-long loan from Hamburg.

He will wear the No 9 shirt at Elland Road.

21:30 DONE DEAL

Matt Sandoz Stoke City commentator, BBC Radio Stoke

Port Vale have signed 23-year-old centre back Tom Anderson on a season-long loan from Premier League side Burnley. The Vale manager Michael Brown may still further strengthen his squad before tonight’s deadline. Anderson is Brown’s 18th signing of the summer.
Good grief valiant, you can't complain that Vale haven't done any business.. :D
Quality might be a different issue, but Anderson looks a good signing for you..

There was another striker signed up earlier - Pawel Cibicki from Malmo. That's 3 young strikers signed up and still £10m left from selling Wood. Good business in my opinion. MoT
