Another great win for the mighty whites against a good Ipswich team. Looking very tight at the top of the championship.
Elsewhere, a good win for one of the many teams in claret and blue over Pompy.
A tough game coming up on Tuesday for LUFC, away to Cardiff, but I can see the 3 points already.

Great win for Sheff Utd at arch rivals Sheff Wed in the Steel Museum Derby ..... and 4 goals away from home as a bonus for the fans who made the long trip to Hillsborough

GILLS TURN TO TAYLOR

Peter Taylor has been placed in charge of first-team affairs at Gillingham while the club looks for a new manager following the departure of Ady Pennock.

Pennock parted company with the League One side today, leaving them third from bottom in the table after nine matches.

Gills chairman Paul Scally has confirmed that director of football Taylor will oversee matters for the "next few games" alongside coaches Steve Lovell and Mark Patterson. Glen Johnson will keep his job as goalkeeper coach.

Looks like the Irons are in the fire .... ing line .......

SAMPSON AXED OVER RELATIONSHIP

Former England Women's head coach Mark Sampson lost his job because of a relationship with a player during his time at Bristol Academy, according to Sky sources.

Sampson, cleared twice of any wrongdoing after allegations of discrimination and racism made by striker Eni Aluko, was sacked on September 20 after information came to light about his conduct during his time at Bristol prior to his England appointment.

While the FA has stated that no laws had been broken, we understand Sampson's dismissal was because of a six-month relationship with a player who was over the age of 18.

Q1 Did his relationship alter his working practice in a detrimental way?
Q2 What action has been taken against Ms Aluko for TWICE attempting to get him sacked (If he was cleared TWICE she therefore in their eyes must have been lying ... perhaps she thinks he was being racist coz he didnt fancy her)?
Q3 If no laws were broken, and he has done nothing wrong then he has to sue the FA for unfair dismissal doesnt he?

Cardiff City 3 1 Leeds United
Gillingham 0 0 Scunthorpe United
Cheltenham Town 3 0 Mansfield Town
Cambridge United 3 0 Forest Green Rovers
Port Vale 1 2 Accrington Stanley
Cardiff go clear at the top after the win against now second placed Leeds.
Honors even in the League 1 game & the Iron are now in 5th. place,
More relief for Town fans as they zoom up the table to 16th. Rovers are starting to look certainties for the drop this early in the season while Vale are only keeping out of danger because Chesterfield are doing even worse than them!!

A bad day at the office for LUFC last night. Here's hoping we can bounce back against Sheff Weds on Sunday. BTW, this game should be on Thai TV, probably MCOT or MCOT Family.
Being top of the league was nice, but I'd rather be saying it in May than October. [-o<

Just heard that ma & pa at the Elland Rd Tea shack have doubled the price of a cuppa from today ............. just in case Leeds get promotion and the club put their rent up next year, when asked why they had put the price up THIS year they said it's based on a book called New Economic Theories according to Niggly

Still completely missing the point then Statts. He's referring to another thread readers, in case you're wondering what on earth he's on about :drunk:
There's no "just in case" for the tax rise, its already happened ON THE 16TH
Perhaps referring to a book called Existing Economics No Theories Involved according Everyone Else would help :-k

I notice the Baht has dropped 7 Satang in the time its taken me to type this. Hadn't you better be off to make a scene in your bank \:D/

Happy with an away draw for Scunny last night ... apparently the Iron were a bit unlucky not to come away with all 3 points BUT ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET :D n 5th is ok for now .

Leeds slip up ... :( .. Adhoc Pan n Niggly this is gonna be a roller coaster season n all of you will be bald ..BALDER by the end of it .... RoT ..Reseeding on Together ..ANOTHER BIG GAME AGAINST SHEFF WED .. at what point does a loss or 2 become a slump !!??

Robins nice win ... but Port Vale are in free fall and at this rate will be playing in the Hanley n Burslum pub league soon.

Just been watching NCFC's post match huddle after the win away at 'Boro, and reading reports of the team's record breaking 5 clean sheet shut outs. Something special is starting to happen in Norwich. I thought this year would be a transitional year, but it may be happening quicker than I envisaged.
We've had Huddersfield's Sporting director Stuart Webber (who brought the unknown Wagner in) appointed and a complete change behind the scenes. Webber has stated that he believes NCFC have the best coach in the division, and he said that a month ago straight after conceding 8 goals in 2 games against Villa and Millwall...
On the Ball City!

Tuff away day fro the Iron today at an unbeaten Shrewsbury .. lets hope for another Scunny clean sheet at least !!

Big game tomoz is Leeds v Wednesday should be a cracker and come the final whistle after both sides recent losses we should know a bit more about the REAL promotion credentials of both teams .. fancy a few goals in this one ??

Chesterfield 0 2 Cheltenham Town
Stevenage 2 0 Port Vale
Forest Green Rovers 0 1 Accrington Stanley
Macclesfield Town 2 0 Aldershot Town
The Shrews are flying in League 1 so no real surprise that The Iron get nothing there.
Town's good run continues & they now sit in mid-table comfort.
Vale, Rovers & Chesterfield are starting to be cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
Macclesfield are going nicely in the National League - just 1 point off top spot - but it is still very close at the top of that league.

Indeed Bob,the Conference is very tight,at the moment, with only 3 points separating the top 10 clubs.Leyton Orient,Tranmere and Hartlepool who were amongst the pre-season favourites are currently languishing in 13th,17th and 18th places.I think whichever two teams go up are likely to struggle in League 1,the same as Forest Green.
At the bottom,Torquay with no wins and just 4 points from 13 games are in deep trouble.Solihull Moors and Guiseley also in danger of being cut adrift.

Team,Played,Points.

1.Dover 13 24
2.Dagenham & R 13 23
3.Sutton Utd 13 23
4.Macclesfield 13 23
5.Maidstone 13 22
6.Wrexham 13 22
7.Woking 13 22
8.Aldershot 13 21
9.Maidenhead 13 21
10.FC Halifax 13 21
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
